I'm afraid you're right Sir Kohran about the Vikings ending. But I agree that we can enhance what we have with dwarf stuff. Those helmets might make great Valkyries.

I'm very excited by this set. I have a special liking for Dwarves/Dwarfs. I doubt I will keep the MegaBlokish parts (the "orc" swords for instance). But I like the rest. Mountainous interiors are very difficult to make without massive burp/lurp action or a very brick intensive background. I like the set on balance. I can't wait to see a better picture!

Since they chose to advertise these new dwarves in this mid/large size set, could it be possible that TLC simply wanted these as add-ons to the 2007 Castle Line. Are they not going to sell them in small "battle-packs" by themselves? I really hope that they do sell them in small sets like Crossbow Attack because I will definitely buy lots. All those mini size Castle 2007 sets are on back order now so I hope TLG knows where the money is at. Please make the dwarf sets smaller, because for some reason I have a feeling that this set with its few lil dwarves will cost a hefty price. I hope I'm not speaking for myself here but it seems that most of us here WANT to build armies of dwarves, and yes we are willing to pay if the price is right, and the set is right. I just hope that smaller sets could be a possibility for them, otherwise.......looking at this new set just makes me sad T.T, what can I do with 3-4 lil dwarves

Bricklink will be your supply line, methinks.

Another possibility is finding them in minifig bins.

Hardly had I gotten over my shock from the new Star Wars sets, then we get Mars Mission and Castle. I'm finally getting over this compound blow when the C3P0 promotions start. Then we get an Indy license. Now all of a sudden we have orcs, trolls, and dwarfs.

Please, Lego, have my wallet. Let's just save some time.

Looks good enough to me. Not loving some of the colors, but I think it'll be usable. The troll is like I expected... what else would it look like???

Minifig bins are bins at LEGO Brand stores that have minifig peices in them. The figs are $3 for 5 peices (Torso, legs, head, headpeice, accessory.)

When I saw this I was speechless! I really think Lego is going in a good direction if this is what we can expect in the near future. I particularly like the winged helmets ( Gondor, anyone? ) and having orcs ( goblins, imps, etc. ) will be cool! The troll does look a bit... unusual for lego, but as it has been said before "If the dragon ended up being cool, so might the troll." I hope Lego goes a little further into fantasy. Elves would defenitlely be cool ( I have no idea how they would do long ears but http://www.brikwars.com/downloads/cards/scout.jpg gives me hope ) and who knows what else they might think of!
Lego do not and I repeat do NOT change direction from the one your already headed in!

All I can say is I hope this a sneak preview set for the 2008 line of castle. :D I love how the dwarf heraldry is "allied" with the new crown knights. It certainly makes for better army building with theme cohesion the likes we haven't seen since classic castle.

Does anyone else think those Viking Axe heads are copper colored rather than gold as everyone seems to think. It looks like one of the dwarf helmets is copper as well. I personlly find copper colored weapons and helmets far more appealing in large numbers than gold ones. I perfer gold colored weapons and helmets to be few and far between just like the Viking "King" helmet wound up being. Of course it should go without saying that silver (or grey or black) is still the best for the most common color of weapons and helmets.

Huzzah! Huzzah!

I actually really like the set design. It has a ton of cool features and figures! :D I agree with spongey that most of the "gold" elements are actually copper.

On helmets: The viking on the far right is wearing a winged helmet. The one behind him is (I believe) wearing a silver valdek helmet, not a shadow night helmet, but a valdek helmet. The dwarf at the bottom looks like he is wearing a dwarf helmet... SANS-WINGS! :D The wings are good but one without them would be good too.

Yes, it looks to me like the horrible Mega-Bloksy orc swords, one of the dwarf helms, all the axes, and possibly the troll's armor are copper-colored. I'd still say that the winged helm on the dwarf with the goblet is gold.

That's actually not Spongey.... ;)

It appears to me that all four (maybe five?) dwarves are wearing the same helmet, a brand new one; one copper, one gold w/wings, two or three silver—one of which also has wings.... Or did you mean the orc/goblin things when you said 'viking'? Both of them seem to be wearing SK helms, not Vladek helmets.

This picture is clearer; you might not've seen the link, as it was in the fourth post in the topic:

I hope you can see what I mean in that pic.
