The Faction Alignments

Post by doodstormer »

I thought I'd post all the factions and how i see their alignment (D&D style)
EDIT: I decided to throw in a poll as well, just to see how people like my imagination.(I suggest you read through this post first.)
UNFORTUNATELY, I had to cram some of the factions all together in one option.
NOTE: I have given many of the factions my own names, which are listed with their official names. So remember, ORANGE is my name, RED is official.

Leon/KK1 Lion Knights - Lawful Good

The kingdom of Leon is the gaurdians of the realm, and the upholders of good. Sometimes they get involved in wars or large battles with the Wood Folk, in attempts to stop the robberies. They are a little less zealous than the Lionhearts, as in they don't kill everybody.

The Wolf Clan/Wolfpack - Chaotic Good

The Wolf Clan is a group that seperated from the Wood Folk because of different opinions abut the robbing of passers by. they sometimes will escourt travellers through dangerous parts of the wood. Occasionally the Lionhearts will go on "Holy Conquests" to rid the land of the Wood Folk to put an end to the robbers, but they sometimes get a little carried away and will attack the Wolf Clan as well, though usually unsuccessfully

Rydo's Raiders/Cowpack - Lawful Evil

Rydo's Raiders are a fierce group of inland pirates, hated by goblins because of their betrayal. the goblins crafted his fearsome airship, the Dragonslayer, but recieved nothing in return (unless broken backs counts). Rydo, who claims he's retired, is sometimes a bit hasty in his "strategic escapes" and makes a suspicious number of "loot collections". But you shouldn't underestimate him, he is sometimes pretty crafty.

Knights of the Hawk/Black Falcons - Neutral Good

The Knights of the Hawk are a faction made up of barons, lords, and knights, who all rule individual sections of their province. Very seldom have they had any wars amongst themselves, aside from a few small arguments. They are particularily suspicious of the Dragon Lords, and due to their northward position, are beginning to grow weary of the constant groups of soldiers that come through every few months.

The Wood Folk/Forestmen - True Neutral

The Wood Folk are merry and solitary fellows, spread all throughout the many forests and swamps. Very few dare travel through the woods from fear of being robbed and abandoned in the road. They can sometimes be heard making merry and drinking, but few that ventured close enough for that came prepared for the Wood Folk's effective camoflauge.

Dragon Lords/Dragon Knights - Chaotic Neutral

Very little is known about the Dragon Lords, except that they live far up the northern mountains and are rumored to have the ability to speak to a dragon, and control its rage. They are occasionally spotted flying overhead on their dragons. it is assumed that they seek something, although the thing they seek is still unknown.

Undead/Skull faction(Name?) - Chaotic Evil

The undead are an army raised up by an unknown source, and are led into battle by the Lich King, Draechus, and their sole purpose is to destroy every living thing. According to the words of the adventurer Tyber, who had ventured into the wilderness far enough to see the army of the undead marching forth, towards the good lands, "They march, emotionless, fearless, heading to destruction and chaos, their numbers are many, and with each conquest their army grows..."

Dwarves/Axe Crusaders - Neutral Good

The Dwarves live in their mines and underground cities, massive dwelling places carved into the rock. They generally get along well enough with the goblins, despite the occasional battle or war. The Dwarves make some of the finest crafts in the entire realm, and every fighter and barbarian envies the Dwarven axes.

The Lionhearted/Lion Crusaders - Lawful Good

The Lionhearted is the name of a large travelling order of Paladins, that carry out the will of the True Light, although sometimes they are said to be a little overzealous in the destruction of evil, namely their execution of some of Rydo's crew, who were each mercilessly tortured, then executed. They rarely ask for aid, even when it is needed.

Goblins/Fright Knights - Chaotic Neutral

The Goblins live deep, deep underground, and were previously undiscovered until the dwarves delved in. The goblins, due to such a long time without having known any other races to war with, had developed their culture far more. The goblis are more advanced than the other factions, so all other factions tend to leave them alone.

Gnomes/Royal Knights(Red and white) - Neutral Good

The Gnomes are short folk, that live in various forests throughout the land, and have learned the secrets of flight (along with the goblins, whose airships are rather cumbersome and large, and the Orcs, who only use their blimps for besieging castles and other fortresses.). Gnome airplanes are feared by Rydo's men, as raids come unexpectedly. The gnomes also are masters with the crossbow, their choice weapon.

Fellentier/Danju(KK2) - Neutral good

The denizens of Fellentier are very carefree and happy, and the land is wealthy due to its fine wines that are envied in all the land. Unfortunately for these happy people, they live near the entrance to the wilderness. And also unfortunate is the lack of well trained soldiers. Fellentier normally prefers peace, meaning their soldiers have fought few battles, usually with lionhearts that mistook them for the Wolf Clan, one reason why their colors are purple.

The Northern Clansmen(The Sea Men)/Vikings - Chaotic Good

The Northern Clansmen, nicknamed Sea Men because of their original sightings, never come onshore, except in small longboats to trade supplies. The merchants claim to be from the mountains even more northward than the Serpents. Going by that description, several scholars assume they live on the northern end of the continent, near the Dragon Lords. (Going by the assumption that "Serpents" are Dragons)

Mejisto the Mage/Mejisto - ???

The Mage Mejisto is a very mysterious figure, it is thought by some he is an inventor, a tinkerer, due to the strange goings-on in his workshop. Others believe he is the servant of the gods, capable of things beyond imagination.

I will post more later, please post your opinions as well! And please notify me if there is a faction i missed.

Hmm... very good, but Cowpack (*ahem*, Bull Knights) seem more along the lines of chaotic evil, since they're sort of a more evil Wolfpack. The others seem fine, though. (to me) Good job, good idea.
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Very nice, although the Wolfpack would hardly be Good. They would be Chaotic Evil, since they kill, not escort, all travelers who stumble into them.

It is on Bricklink, probably just as a joke to their similarity to Wolfpack. :P

Hmm... Interesting factions. I like 'em. I'm not sure how something can be 'Lawful Evil,' though. ;)

Like the Black Knights, Classics, Crown Knights, and the Knights Kingdoms (I & II)?

What is the black knight's emblem? i don't do KK 2, and KK 1 i already did.
I got all the classics (I think) and the yellow castle factions I'll just consider travellers.

I actually think Lawful Evil is the Lawful alignment that makes the most sense. Think of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood for example..

But I agree with you that the "Rydo's Raiders" didn't seem Lawful Evil from the description...

My only real experience from character alignments and all of that would be from the days of playing AD&D - in 1998 (yea I'm old). Does anyone have a website that could act as a quick reference?

This actually would be a great resource for story writing and story planning.
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.

Most of you have said Rydo don't sound very Lawful evil. He isn't necessarily bright enough to be truly and cruelly evil. lawful evil is just a milder form of evil.
