You know there are heaps of prizes available & many many builders of my calibre & even better than myself on this site. I really, really hope that many people step up to the challenge & are not detered simply because I can snap 2 bricks together with style.

I build for comps because I like the challenge. I love seeing what other people build as it inspires me to build better myself.

I think it's sad that some people are only in it for the prizes or the "fame." I guess that's easy to say from my perspective, but in the current contest atmosphere I honestly WANT to be beaten. Of course you're going to have to earn the victory though.

Also I really want to be part of this communtiy, I LOVE LEGO, & love LEGO castle even more. I really enjoy contributing to this community. So I am not likely to stop building anytime soon ;)

I would never in my right mind enter this contest.

That's why I'm entering.

(Because I'm never in my right mind. :P )

So prepare yourself for teeny tiny d00mination.

Especially YOU DARKspawn!

Lest you be caught off guard.

Daria: I really like the beach landscaping in your second moc. The front looks great too. Kind of like a temple. Also the forced perspective picture in your first moc is a really neat idea.

DARKspawn: Awesome as always. And I'd like to echo your sentiment about building for the challenge. I think people get a little too carried away with the competitive side of these shindigs. Sure the lure of prizes motivates me to build, but I really like seeing all the new and cool ideas and techniques people come up with. That's the best part.

Having said that, you should know I'm gonna take you down to Chinatown!

Seriously though, I think everyone should just enjoy the wealth of creativity we're treated too everytime someone is gracious enough to organize these comps for us.

Very nice big little castle there Paradosis :)
I like some of the techniques you used, for windows, and the lightsabre handles for supports.

Ok, first I have to apologize for the size of the pic earlier. For some reason I had 800x600 in my head, and thought that was the size of pics on the thread. It wasn't until I went back to look for the ending date that I realised I'd messed up. Sorry about that! (I've resized things now)

On to slightly less embarrassing things... a second entry, Castle Crestdale.
