BC07Classic-Castle Sigfig Photoshoot

Post by plums_deify »

Hello, CC! Greetings from Seattle, the Pacific Northwest, and BrickCon 2007.

I first want to thank everyone who submitted their fig to join us. This would not have been a success without you. But please help me give a HUGE thanks to all the attendees who constructed the figs, allowing each and every fig to be there.

Without further ado, I present the Classic Castle Sigfig Photo 2007:

Full Image

Thank you everyone, and enjoy. :)

EDIT 10/7/07: Now that I'm far more awake than I was when this was initially posted, I have some stuff to add.

First, please excuse any bad photography. Bear in mind that lighting sucks (really, really sucks) and there's only so much you can as of a camera. This particular photo is a merge of three photos; I tried as hard as I could to make sure that everything was in focus. Given the subject matter, the size of photo taken, and the size of the viewing screen, it's hard to gauge how in focus a photo will be. Large overshots are easy. Close ups with multiple planes of focus are not.

Second, everyone who posted a sig-fig in the initial thread is present. There are some figs that we discovered that may be hidden; there are nearly twice as many figs as last year, and we have to make sure they stay in a single photo. Some may be blocked from sight, but I assure you, they're there. This wasn't discovered until later today. Sorry!

Each year keeps getting better and better, so I hope we can keep this a con tradition. :)

You did an awesome job. Although I could not participate in this, I am glad so many others could!

Hey, I can see myself! Top row, first from left of the podium (next to Darkie).

By the way, what's that orange thing in Nate's hand? And how did he develop such a promiscuous persona?

Thanks Cailyn! I spotted myself, and also noticed a Fig like the one representing my finance there next to me! Did someone add that in on purpose?

An awesome shot and some great editing!!!

For a full resolution photo, you can select "all sizes" at the top of the photo on flickr. Fair warning; it's well over 5000 pixels long.

Wunztwice, we did add your fiancee on purpose. Glad you noticed!

The orange next to Nate is Ginny...she got a new hairpiece this year. :)

Thanks for organizing this, Darkie. I see that a lot of work must have gone into constructing, transporting, and arranging.

This is great. And, just as last year, my fig is one of the most boring there. ;) I do believe that next time, I'll make a custom non-custom fig (by which I mean a cloth tunic with McGinnis heraldry, and possibly a cape too; with a LA sword [if I can find one to buy]; and maybe even Brickforge hero hair and decal'd shield, but no modified LEGO) and send it.

Awesome! I had no idea there would be so many figs! It seems to have grown quite a bit since last year. I wasn't here, but I did look at the pictures. Thanks a bunch Darkie and everyone else who helped out, especially to whoever was so kind to build my sigfig.
