I finally found a copy and was somewhat disappointed to see the quality of the loose golden dwarf helm. I noticed along the protrusions, the gold had been worn away down to white, as well as various scratches (I'd guess) along the outside which revealed white underneath...and I was wondering if this is a widespread problem, or just my luck
I would post pics, but my computer's being fixed, so I'm afraid that would have to wait until long after this thread would probably be forgotten
Well seeing how the extra one is loose in the box, I guess it got thrown around a lot on its way from the Lego factory to the shop and eventually to your home...
Well yeah, but is this a very common problem? Like if I were to return this in exchange for another, would it likely have the same defect? One other person I know says they didn't have that problem, but I wanted to get a broader survey before I tried.
I didn't notice any wear and tear on mine. Granted it was a pretty casual inspection.
Lego Cutomer Service only let me down once and that was because it was an out of stock part (Viking armor if you must know), so I would urge you to pick up the phone and complain about the piece in the nicest way you can. Chances are they'll come through for you.

Alright, thanks for your help. Overall I loved the set though, despite that golden helm. I'm so glad we're finally getting metallic silver euroarmor and not that pearl silver armor...
Ummm... I'm wondering if the reason it is put in the box just so is because they sent two silver helms instead of one silver and one gold (or maybe another thread addresses this). Anyhow, mine was in great condition and I have the extra silver helm with wings to boot. I can't really complain. Although, I really, really like the helms without the wings. I could outfit an entire army with those. Like some sort of melee fighter helm.

Apon reading this and a couple of other threads here and on other Forums, I'm a bit surprised to hear that everyone's set contained a gold helm loose in the bag, and two silvers bagged together. Since, in my case, it was the silver helm loose in the box, with the other two just as normal as can be in thier bag.
But anywho, onto your question.
My silver helm which was loose looked to be in proper condition, same went for the other two helms, mind you, I didn't inspect them too closely.
A would have to second Crusader's suggestion of contacting customer service, I recently contacted them for the first time about a Castle torso missing some of it's metallic print, and they sent a replacement right out for me.

But it came with a gold helm in a bag then?
Regardless I have contacted customer service. They said the Dwarf mine would be available on the parts replacement page in early November, and to try then. So anyone else who has the same problem (a few others over on EB also had the issue) should probably try then.

Yeah, i'll agree with that. I like the helms too i could buy a ton of them - without the wings. This whole Dwarven theme is a major plus to me, being that I am a level 60 (With AV, Field Marshal's gear) Dwarf Warrior on World of Warcraft - POWER TO THE DWARVES.
The ones with the wings look both realistic and Dwarven; the wings should just not be on there at all the look totally out of place.

you do realize the expansion came out months ago and you can level to 70 now right? 60 isn't exactly a twink level I didn't think.
I picked up a copy of the Dwarf Mine set just before the holiday weekend to part out and I found the gold helm bagged with assorted parts. There was no loose helm in the box. I also have a first release set with the loose helm and I cannot find any differences on the outside of the box to tell each appart. SO if it is a running factory packing change, it only affects the contents and you'll only find out after you open it which one it is. In the future this may seriously cause gnashing of teeth in MISB sales.
My DM did not include any extra helm- only one for each dwarf.
Would it be right to complain to Lego that I did not receive one?
The inventory in the instructions shows no extra helms, so it's not like I was promised one.
