Medieval City of Constantinople-Mini

Post by Ebu Deyyus »

It is the medieval city of Byzantium, the queen of cities.I made some important monuments of the city, meant to represent the city as before the year 1204: the Hippodrome, the Valens Aqueduct and most important, the Church of Hagia Sophia.

Wonderful Hagia sofia. It's great to see such well done minis. Peraps you could extend the city? Even put in a "the golden horn" with chain accross the entrence.

It is a very good mini. Unlike some, it doesn't need a description to let you know what it is.
The term "Hobby" allows you to explain to your relatives why you still play with toys...

Very well done! I love the buildings, and the use of the sand blue shield as the door arch.

But perhaps my favorite part are the various trees. Excellent work!

Thanks for all morale-boosting comments. I tried to add little details over there and there, but i couldnt go with SNOT 'cause of irregular shaped elements.

@Emp.Iustinian: well i made this mini for Robin Hood's Mini contest which restricted the base plate to 32*32, making and entire Constantinople would be very hard as i dont have enough pieces.

@jangofett14: it's actually normal red,not dark red

Impressive! Great details for such a small scale.
And I love the colors you used, especially those of the Hagia Sophia.

Great Mini, However it is lacking streets roads and little buildings...

Great work mate. I'm loving that Hagia Sophia. (Çok kalite olmuş micro versiyonu ;) )

Jp: A minifig scale would deplete the resources in two shakes of a lamb's tail. Though I tried to build a Hagia Sophia like mosque so long ago. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=151953

Anyways, great work!
