Daughter's Pink Castle

Post by doc069 »

My daughter asked if I could post her castle on these pages as it is being destroyed. Version 3 crumbled to dust and ruin in a lost battle, with version 4 to rise from the ashes.

My daughter, you see, fell in in love with Mr Langrish's lovely Stoneguard Hold http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/23487.

"Daddy" she started "can I have round walls like that?". Those big blue eyes looking at me were all I needed before I hit Bricklink and finding that 1x2 bricks in dark pink where unavailable in quantity (and darn expensive) we went with the 1x1 rounds and 1x3 bricks. These are rolling in from all over the world - US, England, Germany, etc.

Keep an eye out for V4, which will be finished when those darn delivery people get my packages here.

Lee,
That is great! It is fun to share this hobby with kids (especially daughters!). I will show this to my daughter tomorrow. I just know she will ask; "Daddy, can we get this castle?" And I will have to explain to her that it cannot simply be purchased. She calls Legos "Our Collection" and really loves the females minifigs. Thanks for sharing!

This is prehaps the most beautiful pink castle I have ever seen. It is awesome to see you are nurturing your daughter's eagerness to build. Looking forward to seeing V4.

That is beautiful, love the use of the shades of pink, it really is gorgeous.

I think she is really a talented castle builder.

Wow, that's a phenomenal amount of pink bricks and a great model. Amazing how at home the KK2 guys look in it :)

Using the dark pink and purple do give the effect that dark grey and black would give to a grey model. Works well.

I think I'll stick to grey though :) Actually, maybe Tan too when I dismantle Café corner, Creator House and some Harry Potter sets.

Wow, you guys have a huge selection of pink parts.

This is very cool. It's great to see girls having an interest in Lego and get away from all that media forcefed Barbie type crap.

Nice backstory, and a big pink castle!! I found this earlier on brickshelf before you posted this thread...

Why was I looking for pink castles you say? No comment! :)

(I've had a pink castle planned for CCCV, albeit a smaller one... I just ordered in some parts last-minute for this purpose.)

Agreed! I finally saw a MOC where I thought "Oh - the KK2 armor goes perfect with that!"

Never thought it would happen... cows are flying past my window as we speak... :)

But as for the model - very cool! It looks really nice, and I think your daughter must be thrilled. I almost would like to have a castle like this for my story because it is so well built and has a very unique feel/look to it... and the KK2 knights finally look like they are home!

Great pics - can't wait to see version 4~

What I love most about this creation is the perfection of it all. The color scheme all matches and the whole of it looks like a work of art.
