Hi

Let's introduce myself :

I am 28 years girl living in france. I have always loved lego castle. But around the age of 16, everyone around me told me that i was too old to play lego, that it was for children ( ) and infortunally i listened...
Now with the new exciting castle sets and the corner cafe set and me discovering the AFOL community on the web, i am back to lego and this time for good ! 8)

But when i see what you guys build, i am kind of intimidated... I will post one day my MOC when i will be less ashamed...

Anyway thank you for this amazing forum.

PS : sorry for my english...

Hey Vertigo11,

Welcome back to to LEGO and welcome to Classic-Castle. No need to apologize, your English is wonderful and infinitely better than mon francais. Don't hesitate to show off your creations as there is a broad range of building experience around here and everyone has to start somewhere. The whole idea is to share ideas, encourage each other, and learn from each other.

Welcome! Don't feel too bad about your creations! At least you have some! I got back into Lego just this January, and so far although I have collected lots, I only have a half-finished castle and a custom house (built from Basic set 725) to show for it! I ran out of bricks for the castle, so I have to sort out/dismantle lots of the sets I have. Except most were bought off ebay so I want to wash them. But I don't want to machine-wash, so washing them by hand takes a while! I could sort out the new sets I have, but the problem is that I want to use some of them unaltered in custom scenes with my own creations (e.g. town scene with Café Corner and Market Street). In fact, the same goes for a couple of the castle sets I have. Also my storage space is limited!

Your English is perfectly fine! Certainly I think for the Internet it's above-average, even considering those who are native English speakers :)

Hey, welcome! I am currently studying French, and I know how hard it is to learn another language, so please, don't apologize.

Don't feel intimidated by AFOL's. They may be very good builders, but they all started where you are now!

We usually don't get girls here either. Its nice to have more of the opposet gender building lego.

Just to add to the "welcomes" here, welcome to CC. I think a lot of people feel a bit intimidated by all the great building they see when they first come to CC, but I've seen many members improve dramatically since being here over time, so don't worry!

Also, the people here at CC tend to be quite nice and helpful as well.

Nice to see you rediscovered LEGO!

Hello and welcome to the site. Glad to have another AFOL come out of their "dark-ages". As the others have said, do not be intimidated by some of the more experienced builders. As long as you're having fun building your MOCs your way, that should be your main goal. Even the "great" builders continue to learn.

Thank you all for your kind answers.

It is good to see how supportive you are

I hope i will find the time to finish my MOC before december ends, because i must move out early january, so i don't have so much time to build...

But i absolutely will post it, so you can help me improve.

Welcome, vertigo11! Always great to have another member.

As Bruce said, everyone has to start somewhere. When I first joined, my MOCs were nowhere near the quality of what they are now. The people here are great and will give you plenty of support and constructive criticism so that you can get better.

Have fun around C-C!
