Why isn't my CCC entry moderated yet? - Final listing

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey all,

Here's the thread to answer that question that comes up every year at this time, "Why isn't my CCC entry moderated yet?" Often the answer is simple patience. We're getting to them, but the admins aren't necessarily checking the entries each day, and certainly not multiple times in a day. So if you wait 24 hours your question may be answered. In other cases, though, there may be a violation of the rules. In order to prevent problems down the road, we're trying to be strict about adherence to these. Periodically the admins will post a listing in this thread of which entries are not in compliance.

----
Problem entries, December 9th

Broken link - Please provide the correct link.
-none at this time-

Oversized pictures - please resize the pictures and let us know and we will authorize the entry
Stephen - 2 entries - Blacksmith Shop and Royal Knights Battle
Thomas (Remyth) - 3 entries - coronation, swamp, coal mine (Yes, Flickr does an automatic resize, but if you click on "all sizes" you get larger pics.)
Athos - Cheese Roll
jesusismyhero - 2 entries - Pilgrimage to the Celtic Cross, Medievil Farm
Sir Nadroj - 6 entries - Bakery and Mill, Slayed Dragon Festival, Falcon's Journey, Farm and Barn, Snow White's Escape, The Black Plague

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.
Mastergongfu - Road Side Farm

Footprint violation - Your MOC must sit on two connected 32x32 baseplates or one 48x48 baseplate, or smaller, in all but the "misc" category. There is no size restriction on the "misc" category.
-none at this time-

Category violations - MOCs that somehow do not fit the category under which they were entered. Please fix, or ask us to shift these to "miscellaneous".
Peter - Royal Knights Throne Room - This isn't really two rooms, as described under the "castle spaces" description ("Build two or more connected castle spaces"). This is a bit of a judgement call, as there is an undeveloped area beyond that archway that could be called a second room, so let us get back to you on this.

Thanks,
Bruce

Problem entries, December 5

Broken link - Please provide the correct link.

Oversized pictures - please resize the pictures and let us know and we will authorize the entry
Stephen - 2 entries - Blacksmith Shop and Royal Knights Battle
Jesusismyhero - 2 entries - farm and pilgrimage
drummer - siege tower
athos - cheese chase - Steve, your third pic is too big.

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.
webrain - renaissance fair - Your last image is a composite of many images. In the past we have only allowed composite images to show an "action feature" (e.g. trap door open and closed). Please replace this with a single image.

Footprint violation - Your MOC must sit on two connected 32x32 baseplates or one 48x48 baseplate, or smaller, in all but the "misc" category. There is no size restriction on the "misc" category.

Stephen - 2 entries - Blacksmith Shop and Royal Knights Battle
drummer - siege tower
athos - cheese chase - Steve, your third pic is too big.
jesusismyhero - 2 entries - Assyrians flood Babylon and Victory Celebration. BTW, we switched the "Assyrians flood Babylon" entry into "misc" as it was over 1000 years too early for the stated timeframe (fall of Rome to great fire of London), but if we just think of this as a random siege it could go in misc.

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.
Mastergongfu - farm - You have 5 images.

Too many images - Composite images Composite images are only allowed in very specific circumstances (i.e. showing how some "action feature" works, such as a trap door open and closed). Please replace the composite image with a single photograph.
webrain - renaissance fair - Your last image is a composite of many images.
Maciej Koszyka - bakery - third image is composite
Kelderic - farm - third image is composite

Problem entries, December 21

Broken link - Please provide the correct link.
nikopt - snow journey - the link you provided goes to an empty brickshelf folder

Oversized pictures - please resize the pictures and let us know and we will authorize the entry
Stephen - 2 entries - Blacksmith Shop and Royal Knights Battle
drummer - siege tower
athos - cheese chase - Steve, your third pic is too big.
jesusismyhero - 2 entries - Assyrians flood Babylon and Victory Celebration. BTW, we switched the "Assyrians flood Babylon" entry into "misc" as it was over 1000 years too early for the stated timeframe (fall of Rome to great fire of London), but if we just think of this as a random siege it could go in misc.
wojtek - Viking journey

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.
Mastergongfu - farm - You have 5 images.
Lord Doom - evil alliance - You have three other images in the folder you link to that like you intend to be an entry in the industry category. Please make a separate folder for each entry with only three images in each folder. Thanks.

Too many images - Composite images Composite images are only allowed in very specific circumstances (i.e. showing how some "action feature" works, such as a trap door open and closed). Please replace the composite image with a single photograph.
Maciej Koszyka - mountain mine - third image is composite

Footprint violation - Your MOC must sit on two connected 32x32 baseplates or one 48x48 baseplate, or smaller, in all but the "misc" category. There is no size restriction on the "misc" category.
-none at this time-

Category violations - MOCs that somehow do not fit the category under which they were entered. Please fix, or ask us to shift these to "miscellaneous".
- the "Assyrians flood Babylon" entry discussed above was switched into misc
Rolf - Your Viking Spike entry doesn't fit into the category rules. In this category you were asked to show the process of fortifying, with before and after (and maybe during) pictures. The fortress you showed is "after". Either add a "before", or else we can just switch this fortress into the miscellaneous category. Let us know which you prefer.

Also, Piglet, I switched your medieval submarine into the misc category. Let me know if this is a problem and we'll talk.

LEGO-las - Evil Mountain Shaman - In addition to the large images, we've already discussed the prominent use of clone brand parts.

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.

slyowl - cheddar gorge - Sorry, I really appreciate the work you did to pick out all of the details to make the composite images, but we're not letting others do this, so please give us single images.
stambi - byliny
stambi - trieria - Also, this is in the "historic" category, which has a timeframe of 476-1666 AD, but you've got a MOC from the 200's. I'll have to shift this to "misc".

BaronSat - Your Fortified City doesn't fit the fortifications category, which is about the process of fortifying. The rules call for "before" and "after" images. Either add a "before", or else we can just switch this into "miscellaneous". Also, there are too many pictures in the folder - limit is three.

Should we let you know when we've fixed the problem? Or do you check the entries to see?

Either way, mine is now fixed.

Letting me know, either by PM or in this thread, would accelerate matters. Otherwise I'll check eventually.

If your MOC shows up when you click when you go to view the entries, that means it's okay. If it is not okay, I will post a notice in this thread, and eventually follow up with an e-mail now that we're getting near the deadline.
In your case, your farm entry was already authorized.

Hi Piotr,

It may take the admins several days to approve an entry once it has been submitted.
