Well, here is your solution Hippotam,

Postby Giorgio Chronas » Wed Dec 12, 2007 2:42 pm

I haven't actually seen the admins telling, Hippotams Kraken is ok for medieval journey. It might not, as a giant squid never attacked a ship or a boat, sorry that is fiction. The giant squid cannot survive in shallow waters and that is a pottwhale's tactic. Huntig down a giant squid in over 1000 meters depth, grabbing and bringing it to the surface, where it dies due to low pressure.

But you are allowed to insert 2 entries per category, so enter one with the squid and one with for example a rock showing an accident or something. I tell you, either one will win the category :) cause that is a fantastic moc.

Yes. The timeframe for historical events is the fall of Rome to the Great Fire of London, or about 476 to 1666.

Can I submit "The Fall of TROY" for the "Historic Event"?

But I can't find the "Submit an Entry page"...where should I submit?

Megablocks...
I suddenly found out that our creation is bigger than 64x32
And
We have used "custom weapon"....

It looks like only "Miscellaneous" can accept our creation...
Megablocks I thought it should be a "Historic Event".... :(

Please read all of the contest pages which you can find here:

http://www.classic-castle.com/events/co ... ntest.html

The category states our time frame for this castle contest. You can submit your creation in miscellaneous, but not the other categories.

To all who have entered the contest so far:

Stop it.

Every year its the same thing. You all build incredible MOCs and I have to put a moratorium on commenting on MOCs anywhere (especially flickr... grr...). I mean, having to grade them is bad enough, but I have to bite my tongue when I see something really nifty that I'd like to praise.

There goes my hopes that this time around the contest would be easy to grade...

Hey Tony,

You should do a "contest thoughts" thread after judging is done like I've done the past few contests. I have to hold my tongue for 2-3 months and then suddenly my comments all burst out at once. :) You're right, though, there are already a bunch of great entries and, as always, I'm sure that there will be a surge of entries in the next few days before the deadline (there are already several great MOCs on Brickshelf that are waiting to be submitted).

I would, Bruce, but you do a far better job than I. You usually hit every detail I love and then find a few more I totally missed. How can I compete with that?

Hmph.

Maybe I should do a "Contest Criticism" thread and badger all the entrants in how they could have made their MOCs better ;)

You jest, but it's not a bad idea. I know that I personally would love to have more experienced builders give me tips on how to improve my creations. As much as the affirmation is nice, posts that read:

are just not very helpful in improving one's technique. I for one would not be offended by a "Contest Criticism" thread!

can the photos of a gallery -that is already submitted as an entry- be changed before the deadline for showing better quality pics? i am asking these because rules page does not neither mention this nor restrict this action.

Yes, you can update your images with better quality pictures. However, your entry should not be updated, only the pictures. As usual, you would still be limited to three 800x600 pixel images.
