To all,

Please have some patience. There are a ton of entries in the last few days before the deadline, and lots of the folders are not yet public. Rather than trying to sort through and find the public folders, I'm just going to wait a day so that everything will be moderated by Brickshelf before I try and go back and work on the entries. If your entry was submitted by the deadline, don't worry, we will get to it. If there are problems like photo size, too many pics, or placement in the wrong category, we'll work with you to make sure you are eligible.

Thanks,
Bruce

Problem entries, Jan 3

Oversized pictures - please resize the pictures and let us know and we will authorize the entry. Pictures should have a maximum of 800 pixels along the long axis and 600 pixels along the short axis.
Stephen - 2 entries - Blacksmith Shop and Royal Knights Battle
jesusismyhero - 2 entries - Assyrians flood Babylon and Victory Celebration. BTW, we switched the "Assyrians flood Babylon" entry into "misc" as it was over 1000 years too early for the stated timeframe (fall of Rome to great fire of London), but if we just think of this as a random siege it could go in misc.
wojtek - Viking journey
LEGO-las - Evil Mountain Shaman - In addition to the large images, we've already discussed the prominent use of clone brand parts.
Mastergongfu - farm - 2nd and 3rd images too large
Nikopt - snow journey
Evildead - princess rescue (3rd image)
Tymek - watermill
mockingbird - king's mill
rab - ladie's carriage
Brickbud - marryman manor
prince imdol - dwarf ice castle

Too many images - Please delete all but your favorite three images. It's fine to have a separate folder elsewhere to show off your MOC, but we only want to judge based on three pictures.
Lord Tyler 2 - journey through haunted forest
McBricker - water seesaw

Also, several entries were shifted into "miscelaneous", generally for fantasy elements in the "journey" category or for falling outside the proscribed historical period for the "historic event" category. Please let me know if you think another category would fit better.
Piotr - Last Adventure
LBaixinho - Pursuit Into The Underworld
TBaixinho - Hunter
hippotam - Last Journey
Lord Tyler 2 - Haunted Forest
Evildead - Cursed princess tower
Stambi - Triera
SOJ - Fall of Troy
jesusismyhero - Assyrians flood Babylon

Hello Bruce. Regarding the above, I kindly ask to reconsider moving my creation back to the Journey Category, as Ben resolved the kraken issue as follows:
architect wrote:The admins have made a few contest related decisions.

The medieval journey category is intended to be about people taking a journey in medieval times. This is not a fantasy category.

However you can include sea monsters in a ship voyage, as these were reported and shown on many maps of the day. The moc should focus on the journey and surrounding environment. A knight riding a fantasy creature would be better in miscellaneous or medieval legends (if you can find such a legend).

What's wrong with my entry? It's dimensions are 800x450 pixels.

The third picture in the category (this one) is 2816x2112.

Those people who submitted before the deadline will have an opportunity to fix the problems.

We would like to clarify a bit. Two entries feature sea journeys (Hunter and Last Journey) and will be allowed in the Medieval Journey category. The other entries do not meet the "medieval journey" requirements because they do not occur between the 470's and 1660's, contain battles with mythical creatures (more appropriate in Legends or Misc), or are fantasy mocs (also better in Legends or Misc).

Hi

As my work, "The Last Adventure", is based on Slavic legend about Wij dragon and his army of darkness, I would like to ask to move it back to the Medieval Legend category. Here you can read about the legend: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wij
English version:
Wij - one of two Slavic mythology dragons whose names are known. He lived underground, probably being servant of Tschernobog or Nija and commander of Megablocks armies. It is said that Wij was almost always sleeping. His sight was deadly and eyelids were so heavy that lesser demons had to hold them with their forks. Wij was also preparing a army of darkness for final battle. There are also traces of myth about fight between Perun and Wij with his army.

PS: Dragon Rider is a Puron, king of darkness.

Bruce, thanks for the warning. I resized the pictures.
 first I only changed the long axis, assuming the short axis would then also resize sufficiently.

Hi Bruce!

Thanks for the warning! I must have missed that picture...

I have already fixed the picture but I think it hasn't been moderated yet. It's just a couple of hours and It's done!

Hi Bruce,

I just tracked down my entry, The Monk's Brewery, and it is in the Castle Spaces category. It is meant to be in the Trade and Industry category. I must have done something wrong on the entry form as I was running late to enter.

Can you adjust the category for me?

Last Journey and Hunter

Post by Giorgio Chronas »

Maybe a few more words in next CCCV regulations would clarify more in advance.
Maybe the hunter shows no dragon, but the monster of Loch Ness. Who said this one did not exist, or actually, does not exist. I was there! I have a picture of that monster. You don't believe me? Its true! Believe me!

At the end, I don't care, cause those two mocs are great, especially my favorite is....
