Weekly Set Review: Micro Building Set

Post by architect »

Join the weekly Classic Castle set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our catapult of critique and which ones crumble in shame!

This week’s set is 9324 Micro Building Set.

Micro Building Set was released in 2007 for LEGO Education. Build eight models including a castle, farm, fire station, dock, police station, bus/train station, and airport. The castle has a moat, two gates, inner wall, outer wall, side towers, and keep.

Never seen this one before. From what I can tell from the pictures, it looks pretty nice. But I'm more of a minifig scale guy.

This appears to be a pretty standard set. Not something i would want (although micro-sets are pretty cool), but I'm sure there are people who like it...

Wow, I've never seen this before. It's excellent. Not only is the castle very well constructed and detailed, but the other models are great too. One of the most interesting LEGO sets I've ever seen, and that's saying something.

I didn't know this set existed. I rather like what I see. I find micro-scale to be a fascinating challenge, though I haven't yet tried it.

The first time that I saw MOCs in this scale was something huge at one of the conventions. I did not know that these sets existed. I used to build small scale castles when my parents stopped buying me new LEGO at the start of my dark ages. This scale level was always intriguing to me. I 'm not sure had I known about these sets whether or not I would have purchased any. The sets look nice none the less.

I didn't know this set existed... must be new. I wouldn't buy it, but that's just me. Nice kit for someone who likes mini-models though.

Looks like a good set for a mini. It seems to be the consensus here that the minifigure scale is better liked. I agree with that. If my fat fingers and unsteady hand were better suited to this kind of scale I'd be making model castles at the 1/72 scale.

I have never seen this before. I've seen those $159 or something-or-other sets that came out around the same time that LEGO Factory did (the tiny theme park thing) but... no, I've never seen this before.
