This is incredibly disappointing.
Here is the source. Its about midway down the page, right underneath the battle damaged Vader picture.
Here is the quote:
The Purpose of this Thread in this Forum:Additionally, they revealed that their Indy line would not feature The Temple of Doom as it's themes were 'too dark' and the lack of iconic vehicle scenes in the movie restricted their options further.
So everyone can express their dismay to Lego, in hopes of them chaging their minds.
My Dismay Expressed:
No Willie or Short Round? I can understand avoiding certain scenes, but to skip the entire movie, is ridiculous. Lots of good scenes could still be made, like the rope bridge fight, Lao Che's plane, mine car chase, elephant ride, Club Obi-Wan, raft ride, etc.
Look at some of the scenes already done from the other movies (not to mention the whole faux-nazi thing):
Lost Tomb: snakes crawling out of a skull's mouth
Truck Chase: pretty explicit running over of a guard
Temple: decaying Forrestal and an impaled Sapito, both of which are included!
I hope they'll reconsider.
Potential Contrary Indications:
IHS: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is noticeably absent from the first LEGO wave that features scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Why is the second film not represented and will we see it in LEGO form in the future?
LEGO: Per our design and production frames, we could only translate a certain number of scenes in our first round of Indiana Jones products, and we chose to focus on those most iconic scenes from the original trilogy, which happen to come from Raiders and Last Crusade. There's no telling what could be in store for future development.
