Toy Fair pics
Hey,
Joe Meno has Toy Fair pics (actually pics from a pre-toy fair event). Unfortunately I see no castle. This seems to really promote licensed themes - Indy, SW, Spongebob, Speed Racer, Batman. Remember when we heard there was going to be less emphasis on licenses? Anyway, some things that may be of interest include:
Harley Quinn
better pics showing the new Indy hairpieces
finally some close-ups showing those odd skellies from the big Indy set

I still can't figure out what those skull things are supposed to be.

They're crystal skulls.I still can't figure out what those skull things are supposed to be.
It goes back to the archaeological finds of crystal skulls in central and south america.
Here's an article about it:

What with the prominent "Roswell" reference in the trailer, I have a sneaking suspicion that the odd skull shapes will end up at least hinting at extraterrestrial origins.
On the other hand, my resolve to get the "tent and figs" set with is strengthened. Even though Mutt's hairpiece seems to be brown, not black.

I have a feeling that they indeed have something to do with the title:
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"
Just a thought...

PS Showing my castle-only bias, though the Indy sets are tempting.

Sorry, I guess I was too busy laughing at Harrison Ford to notice this reference. Could you point out where Roswell comes up?Azaghal wrote:What with the prominent "Roswell" reference in the trailer, I have a sneaking suspicion that the odd skull shapes will end up at least hinting at extraterrestrial origins.

At about 1:25, there's a shot of some glasses breaking on a metal crate*, upon which is stenciled: "ROSWELL NEW MEXICO 1947".Dr. J wrote:Sorry, I guess I was too busy laughing at Harrison Ford to notice this reference. * Some commentators have claimed that the glasses are drawn to the crate via some sort of magnetism, but as far as I can see the motive power could just as easily have been gravity.

I took that one.Bruce N H wrote:the best pic yet of that odd transparent skelly skull from IJ4:
It may not have had the gigantic lens attachments and stuff that everyone else's cameras did, but my point-and-shoot was definitely good for two things this past weekend:
1. macro shots, and
2. video clips (to be posted soon).
Castles are kinda' like big, non-electrical stone spaceships that don't fly. Plus, you can stick your head out the window and breathe, and your eyeballs won't explode.
I kind of wish they'd just gone with a regular skull shape with printing on it. I also don't like how you can see the neck post inside. This one looks like a crystal monkey skull. I wonder why its blue...?Bruce N H wrote:Hey,
