Thanks for the memories.....past and future
It's been 1 year today that I came out from the shadows of lurkdom and posted my first post at CC. I really enjoy this site and appreciate all the work and contributions done by administrators and members. In my first year of posting, I've made some remarkable friends and aquaintances that I hope will last a life time. Yes there are more important things in life than Lego, but to me it is like wearing a smile. You should have it as part of your life, but sometimes it just isn't there. In my first post, I said that I could go on and on about how I enjoyed certain members "presence" so to speak on this site. Today I'm going to start naming people, not to gain popularity, but to publically make others aware of certain members that have brought joy to my life. I plan on doing this here every Tuesday (get it 2's-day ) until the end of the year, baring any misfortunes. This is not a ranking system. If you don't see your name, don't take it as an insult. At the end of the day, all members here have at least one thing I respect or love about them, and that is our enjoyment of this great hobby. So without further blabbering, here is the first person I'd like to thank.
LORD DOOM! Boy, that was obvious for some right? Seriously though, LD has become a friend that I have become very close to in the past year. We had a planned project together that is on hold, but not dead. A different sort of project took shape in it's stead that continues however, and that is one of friendship. LORD DOOM is the one that brought me into the posting picture. I may have sat idle forever if he hadn't encouraged me to post. His creations are cool, but it's his drawing skills that really stick out for me. At 11 years my junior, this Brickwank is someone that I can relate to and have alot of fun with. If you haven't checked out his creations, then do so.....it'll be worth you time. So, cheers to LORD DOOM/Micah, living proof that bricks can also build friendship.
Here's a link to LORD DOOM's Flickr gallery so you can seen some of what I'm talkin bout: http://www.flickr.com/photos/12819392@N05/

Thank YOU!
You are an example of the kind of members that we want here on this forum. When I joined this forum, I was underage, and did not have a clue what was going on. Well, now I do, and I am happy that I am here. Maybe it was going to Brickworld, and meeting a lot of people in person, or maybe it was CCC4 that did it. I don't know, but the members here are great. The level of maturity I see here surpasses the level of maturity on many other forums that I am on.
Whenever I go to other forums I always think, "this does not equal up to Classic Castle Forum." Not even the legendary CSF. (Though CC and CSF go hand in hand).
Again, thank you Quickblade.

Luv ya too Eric.
Happy first year.
While we're thanking people on an individual basis I'd like to tip my hat to
QB This just goes without saying. For bein' a brother, For bein' a genius, and for shamelessly promoting me despite the fact that my input into our epic story has been minimal, at best.
BEN ELLERMAN and ANTHONY SAVA.
You guys have done a fine job of putting this community together and making it a interesting and safe home for all of us, LEGO© Castle fans.
Thank you for having such a complete grasp on the depth of community that LEGO© can bring about.
BRUCE N H For always bring such great MOC's to our attention. Perhaps a Bruce-Blog? A-one day?
DARKSPAWN For always giving me useful building tips while at the same time being one of my favorite builders due to his insane mastry of the brick. And for also giving me confidence enough to post the next creation. As well as making me laugh till my side hurt whenever I could catch him in a chat.
TO MAEDRHOS For reminding me that it's okay to like KISS just as long as you're metal enough to wear eye-liner. And for letting me use his roof design, although I haven't yet.
TO ALIENKAT For being a continual source of great conversation and a limitless well of inspiration. (WHERE YOU BEEN MANG!?!?) CAN I HAS AC NOW PLEEZ?
TO REMYTH For being such a stinking good guy all the time and a great role-model for younger CCers.
TO JOSH WEDIN For showing me the ropes around CC and NWBC07
TO SHADOWVIKING For being my fan on FLICKR and making me feel proud of my work!
And to too many others to list.
Anybody who brings positive content to this forum instead of negative feedback.

Thanks for the memory
Of things I can't forget
Journeys on a jet
Our wond'rous week in Martinique
And Vegas and roulette
How lucky I was
And thanks for the memory
Of summers by the sea
Dawn in Waikiki
We had a pad in London
But we didn't stop for tea
How cozy it was
Now since our breakup I wake up
Alone on a gray morning-after
I long for the sound of your laughter
And then I see the laugh's on me
But thanks for the memory
Of every touch a thrill
I've been through the mill
I've lived a lot and learned a lot
You loved me not and still
I miss you so much
Thanks for the memory
Of how we used to jog
Even in a fog
That barbecue in Malibu
Away from all the smog
How rainy it was
Thanks for the memory
Of letters I destroyed
Books that we enjoyed
Tonight the way things look
I need a book by Sigmund Freud
How brainy he was
Gone are those evenings on Broadway
Together we'd go to a great show
But now I begin with the late show
And wish that you
Were watching, too
I know it's a fallacy
That grown men never cry
Baby, that's a lie
We had our bed of roses
But forgot that roses die
And thank you so much
Steve

Cool idea QB, it'll take a lot of Tuesdays before you cover everyone

It's Tuesday again Thanks for the replies everyone. I added a link to LORD DOOM's stuff. Next on my list is a familiar name to all here. He's one of my personal favorite builders as well as a favorite of alot here at CC. I present to you the Colossus of Brisbane.....DARKspawn.
DARKspawn was one of the people that I remember constantly checking when he'd post something new. His Crown Manor is my current favorite MOC, and I love his work with Mechs. I remember contacting him just to let him know that I was a fan and began a freindship that I highly value. Over the past year, I've found out that although our building skills are far apart, we are alot alike in personality. He's my first friend from the southren hemisphere, which is kinda of cool when you think that the night sky you see isn't the same as someone else, even though we see things alike. I also learned that water does in fact rotate differently in different hemispheres He may also be the member I'm closest to in age (2 months ) Anyways, for those that haven't seen his stuff, here it is....and for those that have......check it out again: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/galle ... =DARKspawn

Cheers to you both, Eric & Micah, for the kind words. It has really been a pleasure getting to know you both, people such as yourselves is what makes this place so interesting for me, I couldn't imagine it without you. I have a lot less time for myself this year so I don't tend to be trolling the forums or on chat as much as I would like, it basically came down to a choice between less building & less posting, no prize for guessing which option I chose Look out for me on chat, guys, I always have time for the two of you!

For this next member, I remember coming onto this site and encountering this strange European with an avatar of the Joker. He liked Batman, heavy metal, LOTR, and wrote some interesting stories that I thought were excellent. He seemed strange and liked his aura of mystery that he surrounded himself in. So being the brave adventurer that I am, I decided to take a strole into the "deep dark forests of Swedan", and ended up meeting a vampire.....and a pretty good friend.......Maedhros. Jonas is an AFOL that seems to do a little of everything I enjoy. He does a little customizing, a lot of writing, and builds some neat MOCs that I enjoy. He also likes to get inside my head sometimes, and is my contact when I have a question relating to Middle-earth. Thanks for putting up with this crazy American, Jonas

Wonderful topic; nice to see so many great members being highlighted. Thanks for doing this, Quickblade and others; it makes me appreciate just how good this place is.
Indeed this forum's been one of the few truly positive, engaging and stable parts of my life in the last few years and I'm very grateful for that and all the great people on here.
