Long long time...

Post by Lord Felix »

Well, this year in school has been deadly. I've been super busy and haven't been able to touch any Lego in perhaps a month. My main project is on a plateau; I need certain bricks but I don't have the funds to buy them, and I can't really make another bricklink order.

I feel bad because I have seemed to slip into the back of CC. I feel like I've been neglecting you guys. Yet at the same time I really, while active, never contributed anything supportive to the community.

I have matured a great deal. I was looking back at my first posts and realizing how much I have. I don't really feel that I fit as "Lord Felix," but perhaps as someone else.

Anyway, I hope that you all understand. I probably will stay inactive. Hopefully I'll be able to get my project done, but I doubt it. I really wanted a certain technique in it, but the pieces are...
unavailable to me.

See you guys around.

Hey, hey! The Lord Felix makes another post!

Glad to hear that you haven't completely abandoned us, mate(can I use that, Aaron?)! It is good to hear that you still think about LEGO and this site, but are prioritizing school and other more important activities first.

... What? I do believe that this statement is being quite a bit too hard on yourself. I at least enjoyed having you around here, and hope that you shall soon find a way to fit LEGO back into you life.

Hey Felix! It's nice to see you around. Haha, I also haven't been back for a while (same excuse as you, killer school) and I must say it's nice to be back.

You don't have to be so hard on yourself. If being a supportive member of the community means posting MOCs, then I don't qualify. Or if it means entering contests, I don't qualify there either. All I can do is comment on other people's MOCs and try to help out people. I'm sure a lot of other members are just able post comments also.

I think that you can be a supportive and positive member of this community just by encouraging someone. Try it, it makes you feel good and helps them out too. :D

I'll be praying that you school load gets easier. God Bless!

Jon

P.S. If you got a project in mind, why don't you post what parts you need on the forum? I'm sure that with all of the great members on here, someone would be able to work a trade out. :)

First of all... there is no shame in having a life off the internet. While we're a pretty tight band of fans, we're not exactly in desperate need of the loving attention of the other members. This isn't, I hope, a support group.

That being said... how exactly do you define "never contributed anything supportive"? Quite frankly, I think this is patently false. If you mean "didn't really post MOCs/good MOCs/many MOCs" or something along those lines, then point me in the direction of "never contributed anything supportive", because that definitely includes me.

A forum needs builders, yes, but more importantly we need, as you define yourself, mature members. We need people capable of contributing some reasoned discussion and criticism and to provide an example for the new (and young) members. Not that young members are a bad thing, in any way, but they benefit from having mature examples to follow, and this has been (in my opinion) one of the strengths of Classic-Castle; that we've had a committed number of polite, engaged senior members. If you've matured into one, that's great.

All that being said, if you don't post, then you don't post... I certainly don't post an awful lot outside of Moderatorly posting, which is unfair to all the MOC-makers that I admire, but that's the joy of the internet: you get to mooch off other people's awesomeness So I'm not going to be a hypocrite and censure you for not posting.

Hey, you've contributed quite a bit, though you yourself may not recognize it. It's been great to have you around! I know I rarely ever post, myself, and most days it's really hard to even lurk. But it does me a lot of good to see posts from members like you who were around way back when I was in my posting prime. And it also helps that you were one of my first friends here. :)

That said, I understand your being inactive. Life happens. I wish you the best of luck, and hope you can still pop in every once in a while (or better yet, come back entirely ).

And I do hope you'll check your private messages when I get my mission call, as well.
