Nah, it doesn't matter really. Just found it funny how the one time I get a vacation, its the date when you announce the winners. Plus there was no internet.

Thanks for the tips!

Not at all ;) Thanks for the comments, I was afraid that the lack of leg posability with the dwarfs might be an issue... I really should have put in the extra effort & figured out a solution. Cheers again, Josh :)

MrTS's brickshelf folder has a nice solution.

Hope I was helpful.

it would be a honour to me to hear whats going on your mind regarding this entry
Jens, the Mumakil was incredible. Definitely the best brick-built creature in the contest. Unfortunately the rest of the battle seemed like a bit of an afterthought. The fig posing was okay but nothing like a certain Snake Knight entry a few years ago. ;) The figs on the beast were exceptional (I loved the barbarian drummer), but the figs lined up for battle could have been a lot better. Also the two dead orcs laying next to each other looked nearly identical in their death poses. So you got extremely high marks for the Mumakil but low marks on the rest.

Actually this was a fun one. I really liked the idea a lot and your colossus was very well made. The problem was his pose in relation to your figs. He is looking off into the distance while he swats at the figs. Also the figs are too static. Many of them appear to moving at a rather slow speed as they battle this gigantic beast.
man at ye old well wrote:Sorry to post again :( but if fig posing is what it's, for how about commenting on my 2 other favourites!
The Vig Battle has the main characters just standing looking at each other. The screaming peasant is good, but the other two need some work.

In the Skeleton Raid the landscaping is rather plain and the figs who are walking are leaning back. People don't generally lean backwards as they walk forwards (unless they are slipping on banana peels). ;)

You had a lot of good melee action going on and some figs were really well posed. I especially liked the fig leaping into the air as he stabbed a skeleton horse in the neck. But when it came down to the end, too many of figs were too static. Several Crownies are slowly walking into battle and some Skellies are doing the same thing.
Danielas wrote:Will you please tell me what i did wrong with my entry's???
The first one was a victim of presentation. You only gave me three legible closeups. I couldn't make out much of anything in the wide angle, oddly edited photo. The three closeups look like pile of figs and I couldn't tell what was going on at all.

The ship one was an unusual concept. There haven't been a lot of ship to ship battles. But your figs are not moving enough. To many are just trying to reach across the gap, not getting ready to jump and such.

The third one had me confused. I couldn't really tell what the big hammer looking thing was all about. Also you have some fig posing issues as well as some problems with your sequence of events. Regarding the sequence, I couldn't figure out how the tan fig got through the skellie lines without killing or being killed, only to die flat on his face at the hands of a rear echelon skeleton. It just didn't make sense.

Okay, I hope these comments have been helpful. I am tired of reviewing battle scenes for now, so I am finished. I'm sorry if you didn't get your battle reviewed by me, but I guess that's the breaks. Again, thank you to all the people who submitted entries, you made it a great contest!

Take care,
Josh

Is it too late to find out what you think about mine (or is this topic long dead?)? Here's a link http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/iluvl ... le_066.jpg

Yup, commenting is over. I know there are only two people who asking for comments, but when I'm done, I'm done. The prolonged commenting wore me out more than the actual judging and I don't want to reopen that. ;)
