Part of it is brown was introduced a few years later than white or black. So there were already more black and white, when the first brown was introduced.

Then it was rare for a set to have two or more of the same colored horse (and I can't think of a set that came only with a brown one), so for each brown that was available, it came with at least one black or white.

Why are brown horses so rare I wonder? I've been inventorying all my castle minifig related items, including horses. I have 20+ each of white and black horses, yet only 2 brown. If you would have asked me before I started counting, I would have sworn they were all equal.
I'm wondering the same thing. I don't have that many horses overall, but I do have three brown horses. Why so rare?

Hmm, for this to make sense, there'd have to be a lot of sets with only one horse, and the lone horses had to be either white or black, not brown. Right?

There's a bigger difference between the number of sets with a black horse (47) and a white horse (33), than between the sets with white and brown (26). Conclusion: sets with only one horse (mostly smaller sets) sell lots more than sets with multiple horses (mostly bigger sets). (?)

Anyway, to kick this thread back on topic; I got my first two Crownies today, with the Crossbow Attack set.

Woah! That's crazy! I would love to see a pic. I bought more sets today so I now have 8 Crownies due to two 7090 and two 7091 sets.

Doing a quick count, I end up having 16 Crownies. I don't really collect them though. Haha, you can tell that just by looking into my BL Store and counting them for yourself. :P

I guess I don't like the Crown Kinghts because I just don't like the Chrome/Silver look. I prefer the KK1 and Crusader looks much more.

God Bless,

Jon

450  and I thought I was a loony!

What was your main method of obtaining such a large number? I am always looking for more cost effective ways of army building...

Sounds great to me! I would love to see a picture when you reach your 1000+ goal.
None of us could truly call our Crownies an army side to that! 1000- Now that is a true army. 8)

Well, I have a good number of used Brown horses which we've had forever, but it's the new reddish brown ones, with the black straps (For lack of official name) on the faces which I just love!

Currently, the only set I've gotten with one in it is the Prison Wagon. All the others I have gotten have white horses (Including the $30 Indy set I bought).

White must be the prefered color.. But I don't know. I'm much more taken to the reddish brown.

oops sorry....i ment crownies and others in the total 1000+ ie 300 Black falcons, 170 scorpians, 50 yellow Dragons, 50 unicorns......and heaps more (i should be posting in the other topic)

Its taken me a lot longer than expected to set up, i was aiming for the end of castle month at eurobricks.

i have sore fingers from building the figures..lol ....but i must say 60 crownie mounted knights look very impressive.

looney yes..crazy must be.....i love lego.

These were from sets ...1 chess set...no battle packs. all on sale 15-20% off (dont worry..there are still some sets on shelves)
