Trans-parent weapons

Post by Quickblade22 »

I was thinking that since Lego is taking castle in the fantasy direction, why not make some magical weapons? I'm not suggesting new molds for weapons, just transparent colors for existing ones. Here are the weapons I had in mind:

Classic short sword
Dwarven Axe Blade
Bow and Arrow
Dagger
and just maybe, the KK2 Zwords

The colors I was thinking mainly was the trans light blue, but others might look good too like neon green and trans black.

I'm aware of trans colored spears, but I'm not a fan of pole arms. I thought of armor and shields, but I'm not sure that they'd look all that good. This is about possible different colored weapons, not historic vs. fantasy castle.

Some more transparent weapons would be cool. A few though, not an overwhelming amount.

Btw, there was a non-production trans clear Zword avaliable on bricklink for awhile.

It's been brought up before, but I'd like to see trans orange ones.

I think it would be pretty cool, as a sort of rare (As in only a couple in just a few sets), magical set of armor and weaponry. Trans-clear and trans-black are the colors I would like to see them in. 8)

"Btw, there was a non-production trans clear Zword avaliable on bricklink for awhile."

Still floating, Josh. I almost picked one or two up today, as MAGIC-BRICKS is having a 10% off sale to Bricklink Forum readers. :)

Amanda, thanks for letting me about this. The last time I looked for them, they were gone. I don't know why I need a transparent zword, but I do. By the way, my wife probably hates you now, because I'm blaming my next bricklink order on you. ;)

Thanks for posting the pic Lamanda. The zwords do look cool in transparent. I think trans-light blue would look more magical though. Yea Dano, trans-orange was brought up before for newly forged weapons. One thing I shoulda said is that I whole-heartedly support the notion of keeping it limited in the number of magical weapons. The rarity is what makes them so cool, but $6 for one piece is crazy. That would put them right up with the oh so magical "pitch fork". (Quick, hide this topic before Count Blacktron sees it and goes into convulsions for the lack of pitch forks :P ) Isn't this a perfect oppertunity for PAB?

Actually, the pitchfork only goes for 3-4 dollars. ;)

Oh yeah I forgot to say if I liked the idea or not. I would like transparent weapons. I also really wish that there were transparent figs. Theere are transparent heads but no torsos and legs.

Which for a non-moving part is quite high.

Cool idea

There are other ways to make magical weapons though. Hilts and hafts you can set 'jewels' in, or using other fancy colors. I'd love to see elf armor in metalic green!

That'd make a neat greatsword too, come to think of it.

I think some ice warriors with transparent weapons would be a neat faction.

Wasn't there a transparent-milky dagger in a Harry Potter set a while back? The one with the Basalisk (giant serpent) I think. Ah, here it is. Were you talking about this kind of transparent dagger, or actually pure transparent weapons that you could see through?
