This set was one of the sets of 2008 that I really wanted. The others are ok but this one to me is the best of 2008, followed closely by the mine defender. I will buy more defenders than raids but that is a price issue and that I'd like to get as many trolls/orcs as I can for as little as I can.
I like the siege tower quite a bit and the tower is decent and can be modified with little work to make it very nice as well. The number of figures in the set is pretty good as well. The one issue as many of hte 2008 sets is the low number of weapons which is frustrating. Oh well back to Bricklink. Soon PaB will sell weapons so we will have another source for them.

did you know that the siege battering ram works by twisting a rubber band and the bridge rolls out also! the tower has flick fire action and if you look close you can see a goblin with gray handcufs and part of the wall can fall too.

The siege tower will join my troll siege army shortly.

Exactly, now your on the right track.

I didn't know about all those things.

I've had this set for a while. It rocks.
It's easily my favourite Troll/Orc set.
The handcuffs are pretty well done, and you get a spare pair also. So you could theoretically have two Orc prisoners and one rescuer in that huge seige engine alone.
The Battering Ram is the Fenris Wolf's head from the Viking's line, and also looks good with the horns as teeth. (Or if you have the spares from other sets, both).
The towers go really well when parted into the King's Castle Seige set.

I love the appearance of the siege-tower, but I don't really think much of the tower. But considering I don't yet own this set, I can't say much for it's design, although Lego© ARE thoroughly play-tested so I doubt I have much to worry about.
Set looks beautiful IMO can't wait till it's on my local shelves.

I feel amazed, because this is the first I have heard or seen of this set. Thank you for the link, Doom. After looking at the pictures, I agree that it looks nice, but I wish TLG would stop combining battering rams with siege towers.LORD DOOM wrote:FOR A PICTORIAL REVIEW SEE EUROBRICKS HERE. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... 8&hl=troll
