Regarding Henry

Post by Athos »

Since the original globe-trotting minifigure has vanished, probably never to be recovered:

viewtopic.php?t=3312

I propose we attempt to set a new figure on a series of travels. Who better to be this figure than Indy? After all, his name is Henry Jr.

I figure everyone who got him, could take a picture of him, at a local landmark and we could post the pictures in a central locale. We could also set up a google map, which indicates all the places he's stopped.

Anyone interested?

I'd definitely be interested, even though I don't think Indy would be the best possible representative of Classic-Castle... Maybe a Crownie would be a good idea, just to show that we castlers actually do other things than looking back at past glories every now and then :)

Well I was thinking of not limiting it to C-C, but opening it up to various forums, i.e. fbtb, eurobricks, etc.

Plus, I liked the idea of Henry Jr. and wouldn't mind parting with an Indy figure to get the ball rolling.

This sounds like a great idea. I would have loved Henry to have come here (Again {My brother had him for awhile}) And send Indy is perfect (Sort of) Henry Jr. Who would have thought! I would be all for it.

I like the idea, but I'm not sold on Indy. As Maedhros said, I'm not so sure Indy would be the best representation for Classic Castle.

I agree that we should choose another minifig, something like a Black Falcon knight, or a Black Knight. An Indi fig representing a castle based forum isn't very logical.

Maybe we could just put an Indy head on a Crown Knight body.

"Henry" was just the name of the fig. Henry was/is Classic-Castle's mascot, unique and special from age and his journies. I don't think reusing the name, even using an Indiana Jones fig, would be appropriate. What I would prefer to see is the creation of a new, secondary mascot for Classic-Castle. A totally different fig with a totally different name, but perhaps some sort of visual connection between the two figs.

There has already been a set of traveling minifigs that moved between forums, and it didn't work out so well. Keeping a traveling fig within a singular forum helps keep track of when and where the fig is at all times.

I don't know if this has been mentioned already but is this a shameless plug for your JT blog perhaps?

Henry is dead and gone. Long live Henry!
(and long live the new replacement, whomever it will be!)

I don't know abut a visual connection, but I nominate CLANCY!

Clancy would be a bit large and troublesome to mail frequently. I think a minifigure would be better. Someone could make a custom Grail Knight as seen in the Indiana Jones Game and we could send him around the world:

Just to point out one little thing. If Athos decides to send a fig around, you guys (okay, us guys) have no say in what fig he sends. Seeing as he is sending off one of his precious figs out into the world, on a trip he is not likely to ever come back from, he gets to decide which one he parts with. If someone really does not like this, then they either should send one of their figs, or not put their name on the list.

Dan

Though I will admit Athos' choice of a Johnny Thunder like character is suspicious. :) And if I were to choose a person, I would not make him peach.
