Hello! With the recent surge of Post-Apoc MOCs, I figured I'd help fans of ApocaLEGO out. Therefor, I have created ApocaBricks, my new blog.

Nice work! Reminds me of "Mad Max" movies a few years back. A good thought for a MOC would be a minifig and car like the lead character. I admit I never thought about that until now. Great new theme!

I noticed that all of the pictures are deep-linked (clicking them goes to an image file rather than an HTML page). That works for Brickshelf, but Flickr doesn't provide any way to get from deep links to a builder's photo page or photostream. Since so many ApocaLEGO builders are on Flickr, that means that it's not possible to get to a builder's other photos from your blog posts. Might I suggest linking to a photoset or an individual photo page rather than to the JPG file?

Sure thing. Are you working directly with the HTML code, or are you using some sort of editor where "what you see is what you get" (called WYSIWYG, pronounced "whizzywhig")?

Assuming you can get to the HTML code, the address in the HREF (link) tag should look like this (notice how it ends in a slash):

http://flickr.com/photos/dunechaser/1475358098/

If you want the picture to open in a new window, you can add a TARGET attribute to your HREF tag (an attribute is something that adds additional information within an HTML tag). I'll show you how to do that in a second.

The address for the IMG (image) tag would look like this (notice how it ends with the actual file name, which includes the .jpg file name extension):

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1155/147 ... 4317_m.jpg

So, to link to my page that has my picture of Pugsly building my MOCs for NWBrickCon (and have it open in a new window), your HTML code would look like this:

Here's how that will look in your blog post:



If you can't get to the actual HTML code, then Blogger might give you separate options for the image file and the page that the file is on, or you might need to add the link (HREF) and image (IMG) separately, and "wrap" the link around the image.

Ok, sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have two reasons:

First off, I never thank you, Andrew, for showing me how to post the pictures that way. I'm sure that it will help me tons down the road.

Secondly, I know I haven't done much with my blogs since November of '07, but I hope to get both ApocaBricks and Steam-Bricks both up and running again.

Great job.

My only suggestion is to lighten the thread background color slightly... and maybe get a header with a graphic in it.

You could even hold a contest to get something for that.
