Nopers, it was last produced in 2003, and subsequently re-retired. You may have better luck with ebay or bricklink.fmluder wrote:Is the Legends set still available? I don't see it on the official site.

I was fortunate enough to be able to get this set in its Legends version. My mom bought it even though my interest in lego had faded as I grew older, just because of how much better it looked than everything else in the Lego section.
The model is wonderful. I especially like how this is a real castle, only a little smaller, big enough to be a good "base" for your army so to speak. It doesn't seem like we get medium size castles anymore. Its the biggest expensive set or one ends up with a tower or siege equipment.
I think the yellow wall panel on the back adds so much distinction to this crisp design.

ok we'll it seems I never reviewed that one so...
it's probably the best bricks sets with 6067 castles ever made
since those 2 just have the best and so many alternates models
most of the book idea 250 and also some in 260 filled with ideas how to make from this castle
I'm still a fan of this one
and this one:)

Hehe, I answered a question in this thread, and then totally forgot to rate the set...
At any rate, it was this set (as a Legend which brought me steaming back to LEGO, and particularly Castle. I attribute this (and the other two sets in that three pack) to my membership here, and any knowledge concerning any other AFOLs (especially online). I had always wanted this set as a kid, an when it was released as a legend I immediately bought it along with the Blacksmith's Shop and the re-release of the Guarded Inn.
All that said I LOVE this set. This set was great when it was originally released at the peak of the golden age of castle, and it was a shining light in the darkness of the lame ages.

I never got the set. One of my good friends has the set though, (and all things like that never last wuth him) it was taken apart I have traded for some pieces from this set.
It looks like a pretty good average size stronghold, although a bit cramped, good playability, good figs, and just a symbol of classic castle.

Black falcons are one of my favourite factions, and this set is one of my all time favourite castle sets. Oh how I wish I could go back in time and buy all the sets like this at the original retail price not these current super expensive bricklink prices.
This set has a nice clean design. I like that it is a fortress not a castle. (This and the Kings Mountain Fortress are my two favourite lagre castle sets) The asymetrical design is nice and I love the minifigs.
My only complaint is the yellow flags and arches, and the lack of shields.
But other then that this set is great. 9/10

The shields of course should be there, but I am curious, why don't you care for the yellow stuff? To me it matches the colour sceme and I can't think of any reason to dislike it. Enlighten me.man at ye old well wrote:My only complaint is the yellow flags and arches, and the lack of shields.

I took another look at the set and I don't mind the flags any more, but the yellow arches just don't seem to fit in. They are just to sudden of a change from the gray. I just don't really like them and the red arches on the Black Falcons Castle.
So the flags balance the yellow in the back but the arches, no

I see, well each to his own I guess. Come to think of it, I wonder why they made the arches yellow, perhaps because that is the Black Falcon colour? Who knows?man at ye old well wrote:I took another look at the set and I don't mind the flags any more, but the yellow arches just don't seem to fit in. I forgot to add some comments from my earlier post. I really like the fact that the older castle sets such as this one were designed to have the other sets such as the 6040 Blacksmith Shop set added on to expand the castle. The later raised base plate sets did not have this option. But I have to defend the choice of yellow. Yellow, blue, and black are the Black Falcon’s colors so it fits well into the overall castle scheme. I was not fond of the green flags or red arches of the 6073 Knight's Castle set so 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress was much better in color schemes. Both castles are epically excellent though seeing as the Black Falcons are my favorite faction of all time.
I still think TLC phased out the Black Falcons out a little too soon, but the Black Knights/Monarchs are a great successor and of course the Black Knights/Monarchs are my second favorite faction.
All in all there is not too much to complain about with this set. I definitely had my “smart guy” cap on when I ordered the “Legends” version of this set. I give this one a 9 ½ of 10. The reason it does not get a 10 of 10 is because I think more shields need to have been with this set.

Two interesting mod ideas strike me when i look at this set, esp after getting my 10000.
First, i think it'd be interesting to exchange all yellow parts for red. Has anyone else had this idea?
Also along with this mod or seperately, is it possible to fit a set of the big wooden doors into the gateway?

Blue and Gold
Barron, as we have discussed in the past, about the new colors, i.e. Rams, this set seems to use the same colors. I like the set a lot. Although I do not know much about building techniques, it seems this set is perfect for an outpost battle. It seems defensible but also b/c of the low side walls, conquerable as well. These Black Falcons better hope thier cavalry doesn't get destroyed. I dislike the "Gold" arch over the doorway. Is this like having a medieval four car garage? It should be light gray.
There is no need for a brick separator, when you have teeth. =)
