Trading art for Legos

Post by Reiniger »

Howdy! I thought I'd throw this out there and see if anyone was interested. One of my hobbies is drawing (see signature). In fact, I freelanced as a miniature designer once in a while, which was fun. I've also done some freelance work for Wizards of the Coast, and some various illustration work. I'm always up for trading artwork for my interests of the day, which, as my little boy has discovered the wonders of Lego Castle, is...well, Lego Castle.

I'm looking for:

-Heads! Newer ones (last five years or so), especially scruffy/scowling/bearded/pirate-y.
-Crownies/dwarves/skellies/trolls
-Lion knights/Dragon knights
-Ninjago ninjas
-Really, any minifigs or weapons that could conceivably be used with Castle stuff (no fleshies - bleh).

Sample pics:

Just PM me or email auralius@hotmail.com if you're interested. I'm open to any offers. Thanks!

I just spent a little time in your folders and gotta say great stuff.
Amazing work and I only hope that you'll post links to miniatures based on your work someday.
Unfortunately my plastic collection is too small already but I wish I could 'cause your stuff will be worth way more someday.
Keep it up,
Ser Loktar

Welcome!

Dang! That is some wicked artwork! You have your self quite a talent there. :)

I might just have to run by what I have and see if I've got anything you need -- How much worth of LEGO are you willing to trade one of your pieces of artwork for?

I so envy you now.

Hey, all, thanks for the posts! I thought I'd give a little more info on the art-trade. The way this deal has worked in the past is the same as when I freelance. I'll do a draft of a pencil drawing and send it to you to get an ok. Then I'll finish it, scan it in at 600dpi, touch it up, and send it to you as a high resolution file that you can print out, color digitally, etc. The finished version will look like the ones posted.

Most of my other trades have been for around $25-$30 worth of figures/minis for a pic (my freelance drawings go anywhere from $50 to $150, but that's work and this is for fun, so don't think you need to send me a castle to get some pictures!:)) But there are no set "exchange rates", so feel free to make me an offer you think is fair.

Let me know if you've got any questions. WARork, thanks for posting that pic - if a grumpy Ettin won't draw 'em in, nothing will;)

Amanda, just let me know what you're willing to trade and we can work something out!

Sounds cool. I'd be willing to trade you some $25-$30 in LEGO for a snazzy bit of artwork. 8)

If you click the "Bricks & Customs" link in my signature, that will take you to my Bricklink store - Is there anything there you would be interested in?

EDIT:
Have you tried using your awesome drawing abilities in creating LEGO art? I bet that would be cool.

I really have no doubt Reiniger has more than enough ability to draw Lego, and I did notice those excellent images that included Lego inspired items, i was just trying to inspire him to give it a shot, I want to see what he comes up with. :D

Reiniger I totally love your artwork and I am a big fan already, I'd love to d an art for Lego trade, just to have a peice of your work.

Welcome to the CC family, I hope you stick around for more than just acquiring more Lego. I'd like to order an image of my sigfig, which can be found in this, image. Standing next to Harold. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3086/278 ... a4.jpg?v=0

Or a picture of my CC avatar, done in your own fashion however you would, if he were your own character.

Please post or PM me to work out (what) kind of Lego you're looking for an how much. I have bunches of stuff you'd love I'm sure.

[Edit] PS - I love your X-Men too. The X-Menz rulez. :D
