Folks,
Take a look at this site. It is a castle that was built on an island in the Hudson River in southern NY. It was an arsenal for a time and is now a state park.

There is a castle a few hours from my home in Illinois, depends on what you mean by "castle" but it is a manor probably used for defending or something, tons of stonework and woodwork, and a few suits of armour.
