Has anyone else noticed how the recent "Trolls" seem to be directly inspired by Mega Bloks' "Vorgans"? The Dragons too... and oddly enough, I usually argue that Mega Bloks steals ideas from Lego, but this is just too glaringly obvious to pass up. The Warship about does it for me...
The blockiness and immobile legs of the troll don't really impress me, but they're still amazing pieces nonetheless. I like the lego dragons over the megablox dragons any day. I would have to have the warship in my hands before I pass judgement, though I think it is the perfect way to have a large troll set while still giving the trolls a feel of mobility.

And little details like the new cones or visors don't really bother me. When it comes down to it, if a MOC is so small that people would be able to really notice the differences, then I could be using the ones that aren't weird. Lots of visors spread out over a large battlefield would be too bothersome to track how many were of one kind and how many were of the other.

God bless.

I would actually prefer to have the helmets as varied as possible: size, shape and color. Why? It makes the soldiers feel unique, it breaks away from a normal, repetitive look, and it's more realistic. No two thingsa are exactly 100% the same.

I don't see what's so horrible. It seems every time Lego tries to please it's TRUE audience, you guys just get up in arms like you're going to stop it.

Actually, i like this new visor, a lot. it adds that nice touch of variety to your armies of identical soldiers.

I checked my visors from the Troll Warship and my Castle Tic tac toe, and discovered that they indeed are different. I quickly took a picture to put here...

The one on the left is from the Troll Warship, and the one on the right from my Tic Tac Toe.

What do you think?
Strange. I got the troll Warship and my visor is the one on the right.

And, since when is their Castle tic-tac-toe?

Castle tic-tac-toe was great - for 15 euro you got five fully kitted out knights (albeit all Rascus clones) and five fully kitted out undead knights, as well as a handful of black tiles from the grid on the board (unfortunately glued to the box).

Must check my visors - I'm guessing the one I have from the Troll warship is the only potential new one.

With a little heat from a safe source (i.e. NOT an open flame) you can peel the glue away.

I also think the one on the right looks better.

I personally could see using either one. I like the sharper point better, but I wouldn't not use the blunt point either. As mentioned before, variety allows for a bit of uniqueness.

I am a fan of the new visor. the extra detail on the nose is cool. And I am sure it would hurt just as much as the old one if I were to accidentally step on it.

The visors each have their own purposes. Literally speaking, the "streamlined" helmet on the right would be better for horsemen, whereas the "chunky" one on the left would be better for foot soldiers. I like the right side one better, though.
Question: Why do we drive in PARKways and park in DRIVEways?

I received one of these new visor types in a Final Joust set purchased from TRU this past week. So apparently it is a broad change.

I also have the new visor from 7009 Final Joust sets purchased late this year, this confirms another querry that the final joust sets may have been produced into 2008.

Interesting... but that's all in my book. Could help "separate" your knights even more if you want to. I don't think I would have even noticed.
