Colossal Castle Contest VI

Post by architect »

The CC Team is proud to announce our sixth annual building contest: The Colossal Castle Contest VI. It will begin on November 1st and end on December 31st, 2008.

This contest is a bit different than other contests. We have a variety of categories each with one prize for the winner. Some categories require small creations and others need larger ones. Everyone, even with a limited supply of bricks, should be able to enter several categories. We are looking for creativity, not who has the most LEGO.

Check out the prizes. Seven Classic Castle sets including the highly popular Black Knight's Castle are prizes. There are are also rare minifigures, custom medieval weapons, and new castle sets. It truly is colossal!

Thank you to LEGO, BrickArms, Rich "Blackrock" Stehnach, and Ben Ellermann for donating prizes. The rules can be found
here. Enjoy!

We will be working on setting up the entry submission system over the next two weeks.

I would have to completely agree with DNL. The categories are superb and the prizes are just as great.

Now, for lots of planning and building...

Ah, how wonderful! Thanks to all responsible for this contest! I'm currently working on a monastery I could put in... that best fits in Miscellaneous, I suppose.

I've been looking forward to this all year! Great categories, though the haunted castle category is particularaly interesting. I'm going to be working for an honorable mention this year. Thanks to the CC team, LEGO, BrickArms, and anyone else who is contributing to the best contest of the year.

Fantastic :)
"You may use custom weapons only in the Custom Castle Figure and Miscellaneous categories." It`s a pity that we couldn`t use custom weapons or bardings in such beautiful category as - "Act of Chivalry".

So excited. :D

Lots of great categories, and mix-ups, edits of previous categories- a lot of new interesting ones too. I'm sure i'll have plenty of questions, but for now, thanks to all involved in putting this together!

I expect this year's contest to be an all-out war.

I'm definitely going to try and get at least one entry in this year, but I expect that the competition will be absolutely ruthless. I can't wait! Perhaps the most exciting category for me is the Castle category. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that this is the first time there has been a castle category without size restrictions. I can hardly wait to see what people come up with.

Good luck to everyone.

Oh great, everyone's sayin' how ruthless and war-like the competition will be, and this is my first contest! The only thing that will save me now is Bricklink and some thinkin'.

In the meantime though, I have some questions!

First, do I have to use custom weapons in the Misc and Custom Fig catagory? It just said,"you may", so I'm guessing I don't have to! I just want to be sure though.

Second, is it possible to win at the Custom Fig catagory if I use NO custom parts? Sounds impossible, but I think I may do it just for fun!

Thanks!

No, you do not have to use custom weapons in these categories.

You do not have to use custom weapons, stickers, or pieces in your figure. However you will be less likely to win this "custom" category.
