I have one question is it allowed to use custom armour and weapons in other categories than the Custom Castle Figure and Miscellaneous categories?

From the Frequently Asked Questions bit...

You can have up to a two (2) stud overlap around the perimeter for vegetation, minifig parts, and minifig accessories.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for running this awesome contest again! The prizes look good, too.

I have one question though - for the Castle category, does the castle have to be a traditional quadrangular castle with a surrounding curtain wall, or can it be another fortified place like a fortified town with castle, large tower (like a fortified peel) or fortified monastery?

Also, for the Siege category, are early cannons & hand cannons allowed? Cannons were relatively well established in siege warfare by the mid-fifteenth century while knight's plate armour hadn't even reached it's peak yet. Or are you going with the traditional cannons = Renaissance/Pirate era's, so no crossover allowed!

Thanks!

Aaron

Question about Lego stickers.

Post by greenglo »

Yay my first post! Is it acceptable to use a Lego sticker to hold a piece to another piece, that would normally fall off? Or will I have to use a Lego rubber band? Thanks.

The hideout can have an exterior and interior.

It should be a castle and not a fortified town or monastery.

We have allowed early medieval cannon previously in this category.

Stickers should not be used to hold Lego pieces in place.

First off, a big thank you to the admins and all who donated prizes. I'm excited to take part in this again. :)

I have a question about the baseplates: are we allowed to change to dimensions of the base if the area stays the same or less? For example, could we use a base that's 40 x 50 studs long instead of 64 x 32, or should we stay to 64 x 32 and 48 x 48 and within those areas?

Thanks!

It says in the Hideout category that the hideout has to be for Wolfpack, Bulls, or Forestmen. Can we do a hideout for a different faction, like, say, a Crownie hideout in enemy territory?

Unfortunately it does not. Wait, I write the rules...

You can not have a base that is 40x50 studs. A base that is 40x48 studs is acceptable. You should fit in the 64x32 or 48x48 areas or smaller.

You can use any castle faction. Certain factions like the crown knights or crusaders likely would not need hideouts as they can overwhelm enemies with force and numbers.

Can I use the custom minifig for that entry as a minifig in another entry (misc)?

In the vig category, am I allowed to move some elements around in each photo so that the 3 photos tell a sort of mini-story?

Also, most people have broadband these days, any chance on getting the 800x600 dimensions raised a bit?

Since both these questions have been answered already, I'll take the liberty to quote the answers below:
tiberium_blue wrote:In the vig category, am I allowed to move some elements around in each photo so that the 3 photos tell a sort of mini-story?
architect wrote:
Can you tell a story with the 3 pictures? Not like a cartoon: just one scene, but with 'moving' figs?
You can do this for the Crime and Punishment and Miscellaneous categories.
So that looks like a no for vignettes.
tiberium_blue wrote:Also, most people have broadband these days, any chance on getting the 800x600 dimensions raised a bit?
You can find the answer to that question here.
