Well, maybe you guys can be stricter next time. It's a real shame that someone did that though. I recall someone in this thread said it's alright to put pirate parts in there. But no one said anything about duplo, city, space and all that stuff. Oh well.

Hopefully I can participate in this next time!

People shouldn't have to be told in the first place though if they have or had any common sense, or indeed any respect or consideration of other people on the list.

It's called a Classic-Castle Jambalaya and it's stated in the first post to bear Castle-creations in mind when including pieces. I'm sure we all have crappy pieces we want to get rid of, but unloading them on the next person definitely isn't fair.

It has been fun though, and I know for a fact that the box was doing well in achieving it's goal. I hope this recent development doesn't put anyone of the idea in the future, not least Josh who's done an excellent job in launching it.

I agree people shouldn't have to be told in the first place, but there are those types of people out there that do this stuff. I'm just saying to avoid alot of this, it might be helpful to get more strict next time. Sure, they'll still be those who might purposely put in City or other random themes besides Castle anyway, but maybe being abit more strict might help somewhat. I'm not blaming Josh or anyone who started it, just saying it might help next time. :)

And while I'm at it, I'd like to say Thanks Josh for putting up with this Jambalaya, even though I wasn't able to participate!

If we have to be 'more strict' then is ee no point in doing it at all.

If we cannot all be adult about it, then i do not want to bother.

I say that this sort of thing is rare enough that we should just absord it and move on. <excluding the offender if identification is possible. >

I didn't say you had too, just giving some friendly advice! It's up to you whether you take it or not, I'm not forcing anything down your throats. I suppose that expecting everyone to be adult about it is fine, and I'm guessing it's pretty rare from what you say, so you're right about just moving on.

Well, that's all I have to say on the matter.

Please bear in mind, people, that everyone participating in this Jambalaya is a member of this forum, and could well be reading what you have to say--so, keeping in mind some courtesy and the possibility of accidentally (or, dare I say, deliberate?) insulting someone behind their backs, to not let tempers burn too hot.

yes these sort of things can easily be ruined by a few greedy tarts. best way is for them to take pictures of what they took and what they chipped in and send to josh (or organizer), and for josh to verify this with the recipient.

then it's up the the organizer to decide if it was fair. it's much harder to base value on BL since we see huge range of prices for similar parts.

if ppl can't even take simple digital pictures and send to josh then why bother signing up for it in the first place? it's no excuse for taking just 5 mins to do those things.

to Formendacil: only those who are guilty would be insulted. besides, if they were greedy enough to do so in the first place, they wouldn't care about being insulted. btw, i know you didn't participate and neither did i. i'm just saying what everyone is thinking.

i'll go back to lurking. :P

All that goofy stuff was in the Jambalaya when I received it as well. I didn't complain because we're doing this to have fun and fighting about LEGO is something that's not fun which I stopped doing when I was twelve.

In keeping with the spirit of fun, let's break it down:

Anticipating the Jambalaya = fun
Trading Lego = fun
Arguing = not fun
Insulting others = not fun
Documenting = not fun

I liked it when this thread was only about the fun stuff. I think most people would like to see it go back to that.

Yes, somebody failed to read the instructions and/or acted dishonorably. That is unfortunate. They know who they are and are likely embarrassed or ashamed right now. They've lost their honor. Let's not make it worse by rubbing it in. Even a dishonored knight deserves a chance to redeem himself in the future.

Short version: The concern was brought up. It's time to stop complaining and stop making up new sets of rules in this thread unless you're Josh.

As rogue said, lets drop this now. I only wanted to comment that I was disappointed in the piece selection, I did not mean for this to become a big argument. Like I said, I will definetly do this again because it was a great experience.

Okay, I said I'd stop about it. Sorry If I offended anyone! When I do any jambalaya on these forums, I will try to take pictures as well.

Wow. I go away for a week and the Jambalaya thread turns sour. Not very happy about that.

I'm not going to answer all the issues raised. All I will say is, I was very clear about what sorts of pieces were to go in there. Whoever put those other pieces in there was breaking the rules. That disappoints me....a lot. Nuff said.

Thanks to everyone for keeping this moving while I was away at Fire School!
