It's a good start - the cobbled street is lovely, and the building seems solid enough. I would, however, suggest filling the street up some, unless you were purposefully going for an abandoned, "it's-quiet-too-quiet" sort of aesthetic.

You pretty much guessed it. I kind of imagined it at around dusk, when most people would be inside.

Yep that's the vibe I got here, a dusky or even night-time scene.
Otherwise it wouldn't be an act of chivalry to walk her home to ensure her safety, then he would just be pushy ;)
