This was built for the CCCVI Secret Hideout category. I now kind of wish I had made something a little more 'secret' looking, but hopefully this fits the category well enough. It was inspired by 6075 Wolfpack Tower.
I saw that on Brickshelf and it caught my eye between all the other thumbnails because it's well photographed, good job on that, it looks really sharp. A great MOC needs good quality photos to show it, after all.
You've got some really nice details in there and great use of colours. It really has that whole "abandoned for years and then reinhabited by outlaws" look to it, and I'm sure that's what you were going for. Good job!
I can imagine this being abandoned somewhere on a mountain in the forest.
So that would still make it a secret hide out.
I like the use of slopes for the machicolation.
Kind regards,
Very natural looking, some mocs look out of place in their supposed setting. But this moc looks perfect for a mountainside or hill
And machicolation:
–noun Architecture.
1. an opening in the floor between the corbels of a projecting gallery or parapet, as on a wall or in the vault of a passage, through which missiles, molten lead, etc., might be cast upon an enemy beneath.
2. a projecting gallery or parapet with such openings.
I'm not sure what it is about this MOC.. but I find it beautiful. I like the encorporated wooden structure within the stone work, as well as the steps and drawbridge. Also i'm a big fan of having it set on a border of brown plates rather than a big base, I think it makes it stand out nicely and defines it more than it otherwise might on a larger base board. All in all, great job!
