I just bought my second one it's that good. Still don't like the tree but that's a personal choice.

I ordered this Monday of this week, and it was sitting on my porch when I got home from work yesterday. It looks like it was shipping from Tennessee to me in Michigan.

My two came yesterday when I was at work, I just need to pick it up from the rental office. It's nice that I'll have the weekend to enjoy them. When I ordered online it didn't occur to me to check the local LEGO store, which could be a bad thing because I'll go down there to see if they have any and may end up with another.

I can't wait to get home to check out the set. Now I have to keep busy enough to make the day go by quicker. :)

Haha. I built a tree from old brown and old green to go with the tree in the set. I guess I like the tree.

Why is everybody hating on the tree? I think it's nice, and I usually hate on new Lego sets. Nice source of brown pieces, and it's nice to have a different shade of that foliage piece.

For those of you who don't care for the tree, what would you have done differently?

I agree, not sure why people are griping so much about it without saying why they don't like it...

I just built the tree (slowly building my set, as I have the time) and think its great. It is a little fragile, but that doesn't bother me.

SO I was able to get my in-laws into this set and they so far love it.... though seem to feel a bit insane after some of the buildings. That blue one was a bit hard for a first time Legoer I suppose but they really enjoy the detail of the set. I think Lego has done very well with this one.

Hello!

I love the sheer existence of that tree. How often did we get to see a brickbuilt tree in recent Lego sets? Let alone a tree at all. And this particular tree is built quite nicely. I admit it could have used another layer of branches to make it taller, but then again Lego couldn’t concentrate just on this one item within this great set. For what it is it makes a beautiful addition to the whole scenery.

I put mine together this morning. It took me...hours. Longer than it should have probably, because I'm an impatient schmoe who can't be bothered to sort the pieces before I start snapping them together, which means I spend a lot of time hunting, especially in a set like this that consists mostly of dinky little parts.

However, now that it's together it looks simply fantastic. The level of detail just astounds me, from the molded fish at the market stall to the brick-built furniture in the upstairs part of the inn. The chickens and duck look pretty clunky compared to the other animals, though. It'd be nice to have some molded ones, if only for consistency.

I love the variety of minifigs that come with this set. The only "familiar" ones are the two soldiers and, for those who got the Advent Calendar (I did), the market stall woman. I like the new head designs for the blacksmith and the old man; it's always nice to have more faces to populate a Kingdom with. It's also nice to see them casting an old hair style (the Harry Potter hair) in a new color (dark tan).

I'm in love with the tree. It's so charming, with the flowers and everything. I can see myself making zillions more on the same pattern.

Very clever use of existing pieces, like the 2/3 slope for cheese wedges, the sextants for torch brackets, and the scuba flipper for the duck's feet. I am wondering a few things, though... Are the dark brown "carrots" in the stable supposed to be horse poop? If so, bonus points for realism, but demerits for grossness! Also, what's with the red 1x1 round plate on the feast table? Is that supposed to be a berry? Spilled wine? Blood from the turkey? Just color?

Anyway, it's a positively awesome set, and here's hoping TLC makes it a trend. More everyday folks doing everyday things!

This morning I woke up with an amazing surprise. I ordered the 10193 at the beginning of this month and it was in backorder till 24th of January but this morning I received the email that they have already shipped it! Very nice!!
Actually it is indeed now available on the Belgium LEGO website.

Yeah, I think they forecast the latest possible date that it will be shipped and do their best to make sure it's shipped as early as possible before that date. My Castle Giant Chess Set was in backorder status and they said it would be shipped by Jan 19th, but when I got home last Friday afternoon, there was a UPS InfoNotice on my door saying they had attempted to deliver it, but no one was home to sign for it. Anyway, hopefully I can afford to order another market village this Friday. I've got most of the parts I need to build more buildings for my existing village, but another door, some windows, and a nice assortment of roof slopes sure will help.

I got to thinking...would this set have benefited from a couple of baseplates? 32x32's or even 16x32's? I only ask because I know that baseplates are something that I like to have but never remember to buy.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!
