I have not logged on to the site for a while and lo and behold, there is already a discussion of my armies here.

So, to all the comments....
1. I displayed the armies as they were because I was taking a photo to show my local Lego fan forum what I have been busy collecting.
2. They will be part of a huge battle or castle scene in future, when I get the time to work on that. Now my time, is spent on work and playing with my 3 year old son.
3. I have just got over my Dark Ages from Lego in 2007 and I guess this is playing catch-up.
4. Building and playing with official sets, to me, is a very relaxing thing, especially after work. While I would like to work on MOCs, my mind have been tied up the whole day so I would just build things with instructions and relax. Anyway, it is my hope that my son and I can work on something when he is older.
And lastly,
5. Singapore is a very densely populated country/city. I live in a 5-room apartment that has a total space of 110 sq meters. There is really very limited space for me to build and display. Right now, the army is being dismantled for me to be able to start with another theme. It doesn't help that a lot of my display space is being taken over by my son's stuff....

Anyway, many thanks to all who left kind words and I hope my "clarifications" above put things in perspective.

Awesome collection, Ultraman!

Did you amass the figures from buying Lego sets alone? Or did you use Ebay and Bricklink too?

My aim is to eventually challenge you in the crown knights department, haha. I'll post pictures when I have more time.

A lot of Lego sets and I also buy from Bricklink, especially equipment and horses. I have been lucky because I manage to get quite a number of sets at very good price when they were on clearance.

Haven't we had these kinds of topics before? It should be quite well known by now that ppl in this forum prefere MOCing over army building, and so do I. But does it need to be said over and over again?

For myself I can enyoy just looking at a huge fig collection as I just like the massive impression it gives, even if I rather look at a huge battle moc, or a huge figcollection where the figs are more individualized and is lined up in more of a "battle formation".
But, I don't have to make that kind of choise: I can look at both.
Just as I can look at begginers MOCs even if i prefer to watch the works of masterbuilders.

For this collection, it's huge and thats great and I hope it will some day be a part of an amazing MOC!

We have had this discussion before... but we have many discussions more than once, and that's ok - people should be able to emote their feelings for another's collection or MOC either way, as long as they don't do it with malice or basically offend.

I tend to agree that this army is a bit overkill (and PS, LEGO in Asia is usually more expensive than in the states), but to each their own. It's a heck of an army!

I do think it would be a bit boring if everyone was only allowed to say "nice" to each army collected, so better to let all write what they please~

That's a grand arrangement.

I'd love to see those crownies lined up on a light gray wall, resisting an orc-siege. New Lego Castle is just made for LOTR recreations.

Nah, I estimate the whole collection to be around $4,000 ($1,000 per faction)... but it's just a quick visual estimation though.

well, it may be expensive but this guy is loaded. he has a 5 br apartment. a std 3br apt rental is approx S$5k or US$3k/mth. a 5br must be penthouse size. no one rents out a penthouse, which means he must have bought the place.

A very nice collection of figures. I am most impressed by the dwarves and Trolls as they are a bit harder to come by en-masse.

As for the minor debate going on. Everyone should do with their lego what makes them happy. This is at it should be. You should never put money or time into a hobby to make others happy.

I agree! Building MOCs can take a while to get good-looking results, but when building a set you can just sit down and build without doing any thinking or planning. Plus, they have more play features than I build into my MOCs, so they still provide entertainment when they're finished being built

Right on man, I love seeing people spend money on LEGO, we need to keep buying up these sets, increasing the sales, so LEGO keeps making CASTLE sets. Nice Army!

I am amazed. My jaw just dropped when I saw the Dwarves and the trolls. All armies are so respect giving i would be terrified to meet any of them in battle. The "backbone" of the troll army with all the battle wheels are very impressive.

After viewing the pictures again, I must also say that I cant agree with the description of them as beeing "just lined up". Some of them is quite estetical actually.
