I'm assuming as the pics are from a toy fair that they are alright to post? ;)

The troll gate looks good. The rest of the fort, no so much...

Is that a gold armored knight!! Idk if I like it or not. The jester in that one set is kind of out of place. I am not too impressed. :?

While I can't say I'm too excited about the Troll Fort, "Drawbridge Defense" looks ok, if only for the pieces and the minifigs.

There's probably supposed to be some sort of room for the Queen in that upper level where he's performing for her. Yes, kind of silly and out of place, but at least we'll be getting both of those minifigures, right?

I'm not that impressed!
the expectations for this year have been so high so im kind of dissapointed...
the drawbridge defence looks like the royal knights drawbridge!
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=6078-1

but there's some new nice looking stuff, the katapult had some new pieces, the fire and he green stuff the ork holds.

the good thing is that there is heaps of pieces in the sets, and i love the new colours! this is much better then the old black and grey!

and soon i'm not that special with my jester... son every kid will have their own...

I like the figs obviously. Apparently a new cape as well... Honestly, I only buy sets for the parts anyways, so the build doesn't affect me much.

There is a new blonde female hair peice for the Ind Jones set. This will work great for castle! There may also be new Leia hair in the picture with the AT-ST in it.

Here's another one. This has info on Power Miners, Mindstorms, and Space Police. Those crazy head molds are just, well, crazy! There's also good pictures of the new rock monster to be included in the future Power Miners' sets.

Is the chariot missing? I am like the drawbridge and troll fortress, although I think it would have been better for a prince, princess or queen to have been the troll hostage. Heck, the Good Wizard would have made a great hostage!

So which hair will the queen have?

On the box it is the IJ 7682 blonde hair yet while standing next to the jester, she has brown (Leia?) hair (all in one pic).

I like that Troll Fortress.

It's not as rock-solid a design as some of the stuff they've been producing, but it has that rag-tag Troll feel that makes you think of Orc-towers in Lord of the Rings, it has brown pieces I can totally use, and it has the Troll Witch and apparently a new "hero" Troll. I may nab one.

The drawbridge on the other hand, I must have.

I haven't gotten a Jester yet and want one badly. Getting a Crownie Queen and the Crownie King in chrome-gold armor? That just makes it for me. Gotta have it.

And actually, I'll say that I think I find this drawbridge design superior to the Royal Drawbridge from the Royal Knights faction. This one has brown for the wooden boards and a sturdier structure ...

I'm really liking drawbridge defense. The sheer number of arches and slopes, not to mention the new figs, has me giddy. However, I think with the 3 exclusive figs, there's no chance of this being less than $40.

I have to say I like them. The troll/orc fortress has the 'right' feel for them, somewhat recycled and made to work to a certain level but not much more than that. The minifigs look great.

I never got the Royal bridge but think the idea is something that as far as I am concerned Lego can do every year, especially if we get one more fortification by doing so. The minifigs for this are cool as well. Anyone notice the balista on it at the top!!! Yeah! I was worried they were just going to keep putting those stupid flick fire things on everything, which for space and SW I suppose it OK but not in castle. Worse than having catapults on everything. This is a much better solution, some nice balistas and catapults in the sets works nicely.

Anyone who really does not want the Gold knight should send him this way because I think they look great!

I think 2009 will be a fine year. Both sets look to have some nice pieces for MOCs as well as some great minifigs.
