I, for one, would be happy to see a LEGO Prince of Persia theme released. LEGO has already proven that they can recreate the structures of India nicely. Here's proof:

So I have faith in their ability to pull it off. And as for Persian-style accessories, that would be nice. Anybody remember this?

And of course, LEGO will have to recreate the Dagger of Time, as well.

It's also quite likely that we would see an hourglass accessory made for this theme, which would be nice, too. So if I have to suffer seeing LEGO Cars and Toy Story sets beside the Prince of Persia ones every time I go shopping, that's a price I'm willing to pay. The Harry Potter license was good for the interesting new elements that were created for it and I'm sure the same would be true for Prince of Persia.

I will add my name to the cautiously optimistic group. LEGO has done a really good job over the last couple of years with their set designs and keeping things fresh and interesting. I certainly hope that continues.

I like the new fantasy run for castle theme as well. I do not think it will last forever so I am enjoying it while it lasts. If they get more historic again with the next castle line I will be fine with that as well. Just no more baby blue... I have a hard time adjusting them to castle life.

Sorry I meant Baby Blue knights from KKII... not bricks. I just have a hard time making them 'fit' they stand out so much. Have thought about painting them but....

What age group is the PoP game marketed for?

In that case, I agree. Pale blue has many potential uses in a medieval fantasy setting. As the main color of a knight's armor is not one of them.

I've never played it, but I think it's along the same lines as the Legend of Zelda series--middle school on up.

The first (modern) PoP game was rated T (13+), but then for the next two they made him all dark and "bad" and it was rated M (17+). No one liked those two as much as the first one, though, so when they "rebooted" the franchise for next-gen consoles, it was once again rated T. The movie will almost certainly be rated PG-13 - think of it as what Disney's pumping out between the Pirates movies.

Hey this could be great! I've wanted a genuine middle eastern castle line for my Crusaders to battle with for years, and it sound like this might be ticket! Could any of you that know what the Prince of Persia is about post some pics of buildings, characters, etc. that the movie and merchandise might be based on?

I always thought that the Aladdin story was the best route for me to get my camels, arabs, bazaar, and tan castle, but it sounds like this might do!

This is exciting news (Prince of Persia should help a lot of people get more variety into their "Saracen armies" and what-not).

But the main attraction of this Disney deal, at least for me, lies in the future. Should the likely "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" film come out in the near future, we could get a whole line, not unlike how Lego is releasing sets from all 4 Indiana Jones movies.

Could be very cool.

I'm wondering how the whole licensing thing works for Toy Story ... I'm sure Disney/Pixar had to license a lot of the toys they used in the films ... how does that translate then into LEGO getting the license to do sets based on the films? Does Disney have the Mr. Potato Head, etc., licenses and can transfer that easily to LEGO? I know that Disney had a sticky mess a couple years ago with the whole Winnie-the-Pooh franchise ... one of their biggest sellers, but they actually have to license those characters, too.

And what ... will we have Mr. Potato Head, Buzz Lightyear, and Woody Minifigs? That might be interesting...
