I'm not sure if this will be a traveling exhibit. I've sent a note to Steve Witt asking about this. Maybe some of our local Ambassadors could also check through their channels? Looks like really cool exhibit.
I can tell you guys anything you want to know about this new exhibit. We just had the opening event a couple of weekends ago, where I "supervised" hundreds of kids while they built a giant space shuttle model (I'll put some pix up on the Brickville site soon).
The exhibit was commissioned by Lego Canada. It was designed and built primarily in Kladno, but I was fortunate enough to be commissioned to built a "centerpiece" diorama in mini-fig scale, with instructions to cram as many different modes of transportation onto it as possible. Very fun! I'll be adding a few new pieces to the centerpiece throughout its Vancouver run, and when it goes on the road, there will hopefully be opportunity for local clubs to add their own pieces in for the duration of the exhibit (just for fun!)
Like the "Secrets of the Pharaohs" exhibit, this one will be travelling in Canada for the next few years. It may eventually make its way to the U.S. but there are no plans for that as of yet that I know of.
The next destination in Canada is Regina in May. Following that, it goes east a bit further ... I'll be there for the openings, re-building the giant space shuttle once again. I know the schedule following Regina, and I'll post it on my Brickville Events page when I'm allowed to share that information.
(If you look at the Flickr page linked above, my centerpiece is at the end of the picture set. It's the very "busy" diorama, with the container ship, trolley, mountain(s), crashed UFO, hot air balloon, etc. I'll eventually have a large gallery on the Brickville site with tons of pictures and video)
I took the family across to Vancouver during our March Break and took a few pics myself. Made me really appreciate the access and good lighting @ BrickCon as I got very few good pics in the "dramatic" lighting with my basic camera.
The Exhibit was pretty good but the best parts (for me) were Robin's centerpiece and the VLC layout. I don't know if they will invite other LUG's to add to the display in other cities but kids will love the whole thing. If you are an AFOL who cannot get to to fests or Legoland, the exhibit will be really interesting. If you are an AFOL who has been to a big Fest it may not impress you quite as much.
