Why, the Off-topic forum that doesn't exist of course!
Post in the right forum! If it's about Castle sets, post it in the LEGO Castle Sets forum. Even if it's only humor, an observation, or angst, if it's about something that we have a forum for, post it there. Do not post something off topic because you think you'll get "better responses" in a particular forum. We know there are a lot a forums and it can be confusing to choose the right one to post in. If you are unsure, consult an Administrator or Moderator.

Do not post Off-Topic threads. Off-Topic threads are threads that do not directly relate to the LEGO Company, its' products (LEGO Bricks), LEGO Fan creations, LEGO Fan customizations, the LEGO Fan community at large, and the topics relating to the arcitecture, lifestyle, and sequence of events of medieval history and medieval style fiction. Topics in question will be judged on or off topic by the Administration and/or Moderators, and if necessary, those topics will be locked. Users who frequently post Off-Topic threads with disregard to Administration and/or Moderator warnings will recieve disciplinary action. TOS

As Richard has already pointed out, there is no off-topic forum. This was decided when the site was created. None of the Admins saw any need for one. There are plenty of other places to go for off-topic chatter. There is no off-topic forum, there has never been an off-topic forum and there will never be an off-topic forum.

Take care,

Off topic discussions, with some exceptions, can occur in the Classic-Castle.com Chatroom ( http://www.classic-castle.com/cgi-bin/gtchat/chat.pl ). Check out the Terms of Service for further details ( http://www.classic-castle.com/tos.html ).

This is whats good about CC. We have forums for castle with lego, forums for castle without lego and forums for lego without castle. We have no need for a forum for no castle and no lego. :D

But what about general chitchat? A chat room could work, but there is no accessible record of the chat sessions, so if you have to leave, you will never know who saw what movie, and other important stuff like that. Every forum has a water cooler, except this one...
To those who are about to Lego: toss me a few bricks.

Then post what movie you saw on every forum but this one ;)

That is why I'm sure the admins here were gracious enough to provide us with a chat room. Honestly, I come here for Lego & Castle, the other stuff is extra. Even when forums have the off-topic chat, I don't go there.

Well, for one, that's not exactly true. Classic-Space, for instance. The main point is, though, that when there is an off-topic forum, it often begins to dominate the whole site. Those forums can get much more traffic than the actual forums the site is about, there are some people who only post in the off-topic forum, all of the flame-fests and hurt feelings start there. In short, the admins and mods spend most of their energy on a forum where the posts have such depth as whether In-N-Out or White Castle is the better burger place than they do on actual LEGO topics.

Anyway, the admins have spoken on this, many times. There are many many places on the web to talk about how cool the latest movie is. There is one place to talk about LEGO Castle (well, okay, there are a couple of others, but, c'mon ...).

Yes....important....stuff......like......that. Sorry, but I must be missing something. I really don't see how knowing what movies people have watched counts as important. Sorry, it just escapes me.

(Assuming you don't count chat as a water cooler) This is something that I thank God on bended knee every night for.
