As he hauled himself up the rotting wood in the shaft of the long abandoned mine, the water below him rippled ominously. Our hero gripped his sword tightly and set his sights upon the tiny circle of light, hundreds of metres above. It was no good, he would never make it. Precariously balanced upon the wooden scaffold he shouldered his shield and prepared to meet whatever evil crawled from those darkened depths...
