Well, it took time, but not too much. I present the Battle for the Vault.
(a Brickshelf folder that'll take a minute to get public. I'd offer this flickr folder, but the pics are all a tad bigger...technically.)
I must say this has been the funnest contest to build for in quite awhile.

My entries numbers 2 and 3.
Unfortunately both are 10 x 8 and therefore can only go into the larger category instead of the 8 x 8 or smaller as I'd have liked
First off with the Skeleton's Tower at...

And secondly with the Hawk's Tower at...

"Removal" of the Fleshies.
Two foreign (fleshie) missionaries are sent to convert the people of Old Lego (yellow). Unfortunately for them, the local leader doesn't like that. He can't openly kill them, so he hires an assassin to kill them at their "base."

http://www.flickr.com/photos/27749125@N08/3583139352/ Assassin
EDIT: Accidentally doubled a link. Changed that now.

Re: Battles Contest 2009 Entries
OK so here it is... My first BC 2009 entry.
Fall of Castle Bloodmoon
Story-
Gazkalith’s rise to head the Bloodmoon kingdom had been swift and without reproach. None could link this orc from an enemy kingdom to the murder of the former king. Gazkalith had given King Balrath, a very ambitions and increasingly powerful monarch, an able and capable captain. Where King Balrath had increased his kingdom two fold, Gazkalith had, after his arrival in the Bloodmoon lands, increased it ten fold. It seemed to all that Gazkalith was the perfect soldier and servant: brave and cunning at war and completely obedient to his master’s will. King Balrath had even broken an ancient custom and allowed one of the great, or dark orcs blood, to be named supreme-chief-greatest-ultimate-superlative general, the highest rank under king in the realm.
This had angered Prince Olganth but he was powerless to do anything. When the king died by tripping and falling from a window the prince suspected foul play, especially since there were no windows in the room. Olganth stewed and schemed but Gazkalith ruled with cunning and force, and soon it became clear that if the prince raised an eyebrow wrong he’d be the next to be thrown from a windowless room.
Months passed and Gazkalith’s power and influence grew and Olganth’s diminished. Then came the armies. Angered at the Bloodmoon’s growing power and constant wars many of the surrounding kingdoms had joined together to crush Bloodmoon Castle, the castle King Balrath had built to emulate the Lion King’s fortress and King Gazkalith had usurped and secured for himself.
Now the castle was under siege. For months the attackers had bombarded the fortress with their many massive engines to no avail. The masterful orc masons had done their previous lord well when they cut the strength of the mountain and placed it into this castle. It would not fall to any catapult, trebuchet or other machine.
Would the castle stand? Would Gazkalith defeat the united army? Would Prince Olganth have his revenge? Or would the Bloodmoon Kingdom be destroyed at last by the united army against them....

Re: Battles Contest 2009 Entries
Here is my second BC 2009 entry.
Rederik’s Revenge
Setup-
For a year Rederik had waited. His Viking fleet had been ambushed at sea by the Black Monarch. For two days the battle was waged. Many of his brave Viking warriors had been slain and many of his ships destroyed. On the third day the weather grew foul and Black Monarch pushed his last assault onto Rederik’s chief longboat, the Dragon’s Bane. After another long, gruelling day of fighting they repelled the Dragon knight soldiers and at last Black Monarch called his men off fearing the worsening weather would be the end of them all. As they left the Dragon’s Bane, Monarch had the vessel torched and the mast slivered. The heavy rain made short work of the fire but soon Rederik and his remaining men were left adrift without a way to navigate. At long last they returned to land and Rederik made his way home to rebuild.
His revenge presented itself suddenly and unexpectedly one day. News came that Black Monarch had led his troops south to contest lands of the Lord Black Falcon. As it happened Rederik and his men were serving under the Lion Knights, along a border not far from the land in question. Sending messengers to gather more of his Viking warriors Rederik set out for war.
He trapped Black Monarch in the rocky foothills between the great western mountains. There he could negate the Monarch’s superiority in horsemen with good terrain and a solid shield wall. For a day both sides fought. Their bravery, discipline and cohesion kept both sides in a near stalemate. The Viking warriors had the advantage in numbers and Rederik smiled inwardly: his battlefield had suited his purposes perfectly…. or had it?

And a Third BC 2009 Entry-
The base is 8x8
The Seat
Introduction-
For as long as John could remember he was told to always put the seat down again once he was done. Sure he had a problem remembering it at times…. don’t we all? After all it is not really that important. At this moment it seemed to be the only thing that mattered to John. He had forgotten the most archaic and important of laws regulating peace between men and women…. always lower the seat. Now battle was unavoidable and John would suffer…
