Hello from Los Angeles!

Post by Reaper45 »

I'm new to the forums here, but definately not new to Legos. Been playing with Legos since I got my first castle set back in the early 80's as a kid. I've always loved the Castle Legos and building my own versions of the castle sets, with Pirates and their ships being a close second. I mean come on, who didn't have their Black Falcons fight off the Armada back in the day? I also really like the new fantasy castle series with the Orcs. New bad guys are always nice to have. Anyways, I hope you guys will welcome me and be patient with the works in progress that I've got going on.

Hey,

Welcome aboard! I used to live in LA as well until work took me across the country to DC. Where in LA do you live? I was at UCLA and lived a little south of there, then taught at Cal State Northridge and lived in Sherman Oaks. Are you involved with LUGOLA? I didn't get to go to many meetings, but it was a nice group.

Bruce
no, not that one
no, not the other one, either

(at one point there were three active AFOLs named Bruce who all lived in LA)

And here I thought I'd be the only Angelino here. Not to give you guys a hard time but why would you leave Los Angeles? I'm about 20 mins south of downtown in a little town called Lomita. I've never really been a part of any local Lego community frankly because I didnt know any existed.

I can understand that. I'll probably have to do that myself sometime in the future.

I moved because of work. My wife got a great job offer in DC, and we've been here the past four years. We're actually going to be moving again, this time for my work, to southern New Jersey - near Philadelphia.
