Fighting Fire with Flaming Swords:
Image

Lately I've been recreating scenes from the Nintendo DS game Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi in a castle-ish theme with figs. instead of anthromorphic mushrooms. I had to jump ahead in the story so I could build the battle between the ingenuitive Morels and the warlike Amanitas.

More background and pics. can be found on my MOCpages:

Here are my other two entries for the contest. Back story for the main one is as followed.

It's and average day for the Crownies outer wall. From the gatehouse, an archer sees what appears to be some orcs :orc: coming. He sinals the knight and his army to come fight the orcs. :orc: No matter how loud it got, the two deaf birds kept swimming along. The orcs :orc: soon came running in with full force. Here is what it looks like just before the main battle takes place.

Some inspiration credit may be due to Garbageman13, as I thought this up when I heard his idea, I believe. And more credit because I probably wouldn't have made this or even known of the contest if not for him!

Here's my 2nd and final entry!

The Ice is cracking... The Crownies, in their attempt to jump the crack before the Bryntine Ice Sleigh are just too slow. Then, when the Crownies turn and try to fight back, they are totally creamed. Looks like the Bryntines are gonna win this one. :?

When the king was writing his will he encountered a major problem. Who would get his land? He couldn't choose his eldest son because his eldest sons were twins. So he decided to divide the land in two and let each son get a half. One twin chose the good lifestyle and the other, evil twin chose to live the bad lifestyle. Now look what has happened.......

Hey everyone, this here is my entry for the Battles contest. The skellies have called upon their allies, the trolls and the orcs to come to their aid to finally rid the land of the pure hearted kingdom across the river. The men of that kingdom are outnumbered, true, but they have some of their friends from the east and have summoned the earth itself to come to their aid.

It's not easy to free a princess from the wizard's castle.

Post by eti »

Image

The two Brave Knights prepared for a fierce battle against the wizards who kept the princess in a tower of their castle. They were going to storm the castle, smash the glass that holds the magic fire, chop the wizards' heads off, strangle their nasty phoenix and take the princess home.

The wizards, however, didn't even bother to take the drawing bridge up. They could handle the situation easily.

all photos can be clicked to enlarge, they're max 800*600
on Flickr most pictures link to larger sizes

Here are some close ups of the characters:

Here are some details of the main hall with the fire that keeps the magic runninng, and the tower with the captive princess:

And here are three photos of the castle - one with the drawbridge up:

Second Battle of Beruna: Aslan's How

Image

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
The Old Narnian Army charges out against the wicked Telmarines outside Aslan's How! The dwarves cut through the supports of the underground tunnels, causing a sink hole, into which the Telmarines charge, to be destroyed, and the trees come to life, attacking the men of Telmar. All the while, the men of Ettinsmoor, allied to the Telmarines, operate deadly ballistas and catapults, to put pressure on Susan, the dwarf archers and the gryphons. Meanwhile, inside the How, Nikabrik the black dwarf's friends, a hag and a wer-wolf, begin their plan to restore the White Witch; Edmund is about to give that one drop of blood she needs to return, whilst Peter fights the wer-wolf, the hag casts a spell to form an ice-wall and Trumpkin disposes of Nikabrik.
(find the actual precedings here - the MOC isn't movie or book accurate)

N.B.
- I would have landscaped the grass proplerly, not used baseplates, but I ran out of time and bricks...
- Forgive the BURPs and LURPs - my collection of bley, dark grey and brown doesn't stretch far
- Notable omissions include a clearly depicted Reepicheep (I would have bought a Scabbers, but couldn't be asked, and my brickbuilt versions flopped), the Bulgy Bears (no time or bricks) and Miraz (dunno why)
- This thing used up every black, grey, bley, dark grey, brown and green brick I own...
- It's also hollow - my sister unleashed the hamster on it, and it was 10 minutes before he emerged...
- The lion decal on the wall of the chamber is the Duplo lion outline, and the others were done from photos
- Josh, before you say that Edmund and the Witch are just standing there ( ), that's what it's like in the film - he's in a daze, and she's immobilised by the ice

For more photos, click here and change the final number, (outside of MOC 1-38, inside 39-42, figs 43-47 (centaurs here, decals 49-51), or visit the gallery.

Credit to Micahberger for the minotaur, Dano for the White Witch decal template, Moosebot for moveable dwarf legs and Quickblade for the Erinnsmoor troop decal template :tasty:

Battle of Stamford Bridge, 1066

Image

But there was one of the Norwegians who withstood the English folk, so that they could not pass over the bridge, nor complete the victory.

I would have gone with trans-black instead of blue, but it hasn't arrived...
