Vote for your LEGO Ambassadors!

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey everyone,

It's time to vote for the three people that Classic-Castle will put forward for the LEGO Ambassador positions. Send me a private message with your vote for up to three people from this list:

John (J1A3L5)
Anthony (SavatheAggie)
Sebastian (aliencat)
Caylin (Plums Deify)
Bluesecrets
Ben (Architect)
Aaron (Darkspawn)

You have one week to vote. Votes must be received by 11:59 PM my time (Eastern time zone of the US) (that's GMT -5 I believe) Sunday, June 21. The top three vote-getters will be our nominees.

There is no need to post votes in this thread. No more names can be added to the short list at this point. Good luck to all involved.

Bruce

Edited to add the date.

This is on the 21st? Or the 20th?

EST is GMT -5 indeed.

I vote for Aliencat, (because) from what I've seen he's awesome, funny, and would represent us well.

Not to poo-poo all over the thread, but wouldn't a more efficient means of voting be a standard forum poll? Less work for the voters, and yourself too Bruce?

Edit- just noticed the thread's already been messed up.

Not to be rude, but did you even read what Bruce posted?

a) You are kinda supposed to post the Three people you would like.

b) You are supposed to send a PM to Bruce, NOT post here.

I hope that makes sense.

@Richard: I can only ssume here, but I am guessing that the polling system is not foolproof and that making the voters actually work a bit may make them take the time to ensure they vote for the best people for the jobs.

Thanks for pointing out that I didn't include the date on the vote deadline. I've fixed the post at the top of the thread.

On the possibility of a forum poll there are a few problems with that:
-The current software doesn't allow for a "vote for three" option
-The admins previously discussed this and we didn't want a public vote count. It can raise problems with hurt feelings if the difference between vote-getters is massive (or can lead to great frustration if it turns out there is a difference of 1 vote). Also, if the vote totals are public while the polls are still open it can skew things as people may vote differently based on where the votes already are.

It's not that big a deal for me to go through the votes and tally up the winners. I hope I have the trust of the CC readership that I am an honest broker in this. I can publicly state that I would strongly support any of the seven on the short list as our LA nominees. They are all long-time members of our community and I'm friends with each of them.

Just to clarify, if someone wants to vote for fewer than three, that is okay as well.

Oh absolutely, I wouldn't want to suggest otherwise, and hopefully that wasn't implied.

I think we should nominate Caylin and Bluesecrets. I'm quite interested to see how a 'female perspective' would impact the Ambassador program.

Your rude! Just kidding. :P

I might have skimmed his post, but I was looking for the general idea of the thread; to vote. Another school-days habit... I also suffer from ADD ( though ADD is no longer a valid term for some reason, now it's always ADHD...), so I do have a tendancy to leap before I look...

ADD or not, it's still a good idea to fully read a thread before posting. Read twice, post once.

Please keep your comments on topic. This is an important thread that needs to stay on topic and concise. This is not a Chat room.

Please read the instructions before voting. You are supposed to vote for three and you are supposed to send a private message to Bruce with that vote. We are trying to keep the voting private.

Thank you,
Josh
