I have two of MMVs arriving this week; one for building, one to put away with the reset of my boxed/unopened Castle collection. The MMV will go inside my castle walls that I'm currently building. This is by far the best Castle set TLG has ever released. EVER!

I too have this set coming this week. Monday if the shipping details are correct. I just keep looking at the reviews of this set and can hardly wait for it to show up at my door step. I'm glad AFOL's have such an influence on LEGO sets. It is very encouraging.

That is very surprising. However, I do not think the set is permanently gone from S@H. All the LEGO Stores only just got the set in quantity this past month! Speaking of which, I'd be happy to buy one there and ship it to you for exact cost if you missed the set.

This is a good reminder, though, to anyone who hasn't picked this set up yet. These S@H exclusives come and go without warning, so don't wait around too long!

EDIT: Just noticed this thread over at FBTB, apparently the Death Star is also listed as sold out. Someone contacted customer service about it, and got this response:
The demand for this particular LEGO set has been unexpectedly high and our factories are struggling to keep up with production.
That's the reason why this set is temporarily out of stock.

Don't worry though, it should be back soon. You can check the availability of all our products online in our LEGO Shop At Home on http://www.LEGOshop.com.
I'm guessing it's the same story for MMV - the initial run has been depleted and they don't know when they're getting more, so they are saying "Sold Out" for now. It's also a possibility that it's just backordered, but they're marking it as sold out to scare up more sales when it comes back.

Hum, good info. thanks

It makes sense considering MMV has been in the top 25 for six months now. So I shall keep an eye out for it.

Also thanks for the offer to grab me one at your local lego store. Hopefully such drasic measures wont be needed, but its appreciated. : )

There were several of them at the Big Shop at LLCA, the Downtown Disney Shop and the Ontario CA Store.

I almost bought another one. Though with the firehouse and the new Indy stuff and the Endor and Hoth sets, I may have to pass.

Very strange, I almost think it may have been a mistake that it was set as sold out.

Bummer, as that's what I was planning on buying...

Do they not do Shop-n-Ship there? I'm surprised they didn't mention it when you asked about MMV.

Hmm... hadn't heard of that... so no, they didn't mention it. They did mentioned you could get it online, which is kind of funny considering about the same time they said that it was still listed as sold-out online. :)

yeah I have no idea why they would put brown ones, if they knew that you prefer the spotted ones.
