I must say, this is one of the best mocs I have seen in a long time. I love the way you made the waterfall and the details are amazing. Excellent job.

Re: Waterfall House
That's a beauty! I love the orc-green for the house! fits like a glove!
Nice job on the scenery, too! The stair-tower looks really shabby, whilst the house looks expensive and rich. A difference well represented in this MOC!
Good job RR!

Re: Waterfall House
I really like the texture you get from using the grooved 1x2s in the walls. Were those a pick-a-brick find or bricklink?
I think I disagree with Remyth, the green slopes work fine - it gives the effect that the grass is slumping over the cliffs.

Re: Waterfall House
The "sand green" bricks are mostly from the Green Grocer set. As for the green slopes, I have a tendency to think if you use a lot of different shapes and textures in various ways, the end result looks more "natural" to my eyes. That's why I don't have a problem with people combining the slope technique and the basic brick technique when landscaping rocks and stones. It doesn't have to be one or the other if you do it tastefully.
Thanks guys!

Re: Waterfall House
Another excellent MOC; you seem to always have some unique way to use bricks in all your creations. Like others have said I like the color scheme, the dark/ light brown, the dark/light green, and the sand green with everything else. Well done.

Re: Waterfall House
Great work (as usual).
More than anything, I appreciate that you have a very distinct style to your MOCs. It's often imitated, yet few builders produce such a consistent body of high-quality work. I love your use of slopes and wedges to create texture. The waterfall is also quite striking.
Perhaps my favourite feature of your work is your use of colour. You use alot of rich earth tones that others often overlook. The orange-brown colour for example seems to be a signature of many of your MOCs. It makes them quite vibrant and very exciting to look at.
If I have one criticism, it is that you build too well. You make the rest of us look bad.

Yeah, I love that color. I'm kind of a collector of "natural" toned elements. I can never have to much of the "sand" colors.Blueandwhite wrote:The orange-brown colour for example seems to be a signature of many of your MOCs. It makes them quite vibrant and very exciting to look at.
When done appropriately, several different shades of a color(like green) in a MOC can really liven them up.
Thanks, Rocko

Re: Waterfall House
Awesome job.
I really like this waterfall, because most of the waterfalls I see are trans, but this was made with solid colors
It looks amazing.

I believe that my comment on Flickr bears repeating here: "I want to go to there."
I really do. This is the sort of fictional, mystical, idealized place that exists in my head. So cool to see realized in living brick!
