Hi Anthony,

Thanks for these images. They all look very accurate. I also like the custom shields, especially the 375 shields which turned out nicely.

Very Nice Work as Usual Anthony,

The custom shields are definitely a highlight. Now I all I need is a printer, I have photoshop, so I am really itching to see if my Xmas printer becomes a reality. :D Thanks again,

Hey Anthony,

Excellent job, as always! I have really enjoyed your sticker articles. You have obviously spent a huge amount of time on them. Thank you. They are a great resource to our community. Feel free to retire, you have earned it! :)

He may have earned it, but I don't think any of us would like to see him retire. Keep it up Anthony, you are an insiration to all. If I had the skills I would be trying my hand at some origional designs, but alas, I must make due with these awsome designs.

Once Again - YOU ROCK!

My favorite parts of your articles on the sticker shields are the way you create the new ones from some that didn't make it there before.

Hm- that didn't come out right but I hope you get the gist of it...

I love the oval crusader shields, and the oval chevron.

and of course have great templates simply allows me to better make my own shields...

YOU ROCK! :D

DUDE!

*points two big thumbs up at A. Sava*

These shields are awesome! My Black Falcons had to forge a uncomfortable alliance with the Gryffindor's to be able to use their ovoid shields.

I declare that alliance broken! The Black Falcons are for the Black Falcons alone!!!

My ID Pic says it all!

All due credit and more to Mr. Sava! Our liberator! :D
Let them come...

need help!

Post by RedBrickMarket »

Anthony or someone,
There are people who sell and use your designs and designs like them all
over. Do I have permission to use the designs you have created on figures
of mine? Also, do I have permission to use them for money making purposes?
If not, do I have permission to edit or change them to use them? Thanks!!!

p.s. I really need help. I want to make stickers but I don't want to pay
$500 for the Photo Shop thing. Is there any other way?

Err, wouldn't it be smarter to PM this rather than post in an old thread?

Not necessarily.

In fact, I would say reviving this thread was the judicious way for RedBrickMarket to go about it. Your concern, obviously, stems from the fact that the Admins and Mods (myself, incidentally, included) tend to get cranky about people replying to old, dead threads. And we do--but for a reason. We get cranky when people reply to old, dead threads with nothing that was worth saying, like "me too," or "that's awesome," or "I thinks this iz ttally coolz, an!"

In cases like those, no point was served by dragging up an old thread, but that does not mean all old threads need to be treated that way. Some, it is true, should never be raised back up, since they dealt with a time-specific issue, and that time is now long past--threads about preview pictures or prototype parts long after the sets have been released might be such an example. Other threads, however, deal with timeless topics (or less time-relative, anyway), and in these cases it is more appropriate to dig up the old thread, if you're willing to spend the time finding it, than to start a new one. It's one less thread on the forums.

This is one of those cases, since Tony's sticker articles are still up, public, in the How-To section of the site, and--without speaking for anyone else--I know I still regularly visit them when I need a sticker. That being the case, and RedBrickMarket having a pertinent question, there was no need to start a new thread, since the old one could still do fine.

As to your other implicit charge, that RBM might have been wiser to go to PM rather than post publicly at all, that is again a situation matter. The rule of thumb, when it comes to PMing vs. posting is that you PM when something is private and you post when something is public. In this particular case, it's something of a grey matter, and RBM was free to do as s/he choose. Although the question is directed to a particular user (who, in this case, happens to be an Admin, but that doesn't matter--s/he could have been asking Lamanda the same question about her customs), it's a question anyone may have an interest in knowing the answer to. As such, it was perfectly fine for RBM to post in the public forum.

And, as already noted--in a case like this--to revive a long-dead thread.

I trust that is all perfectly clear; I'll leave Tony to answer RBM's actual questions.

Feel free to use any of these images as you wish. They are free to download and to use. However, if the situation arises, please give me my due credit. These shields were a lot of work.
From the actual article... (which I still go to on a regular basis - these things are truly awesome.)
Also, Tony made the templates for a reason - so you can play with them. :D

I can tell you from my own experience that Anthony's templates and design's have been very helpful, and like LEGOFREAK I go back to them as well. I have used parts of his designs in my work, I give him or anyone else's work I use credit when I first post my designs, and I do sell them. I do not use one of his designs exactly as he made it and try to sell it, the exception may be with my faction knights, I used his shield designs and made them smaller and incorporated them into mine.

There are some people who use paint.NET, it is a photo editing software and it is free. Plus you can use the files that Anthony made.
