I agree. Imagine this set in dark green or dark brown. Still, I think these sets are popular with kids and adults alike. SInce I already have the mystical creatures, I may not buy this updated version.

Thanks,

Hey just a cool fact I know the guy that made the big dragon in that set on digtle disigner. Lego then tolk it and made it part of that set. Staing on topic that new dragon set looks asome I might just have to pick up a few of thouse.

I would totally flip out if LEGO ever made a Creator set that was primarily dark brown/reddish brown. :D

Pardon if I'm wrong, but wasn't the original Dinosaur Creator set primarily brown and red-brown? :D

Not sure which of the sets you are talking about, but they were both primarily dark red/red.

Either way, between these Designer sets:

And these earlier Creator sets:

They really used to be a lot better about getting more unique colors into the sets. Many of the "dark" color variations, tans, browns, etc. Unfortunately I missed most of these during my dim ages 2003-2008. :( I would love love love to see another set along those lines.

I actually like the dragon in this dark red. I could use some dark red pieces. There are not really that many castle sets with a lot of dark red pieces in them, so i could use them. And when I think of a dragon, I think of green or dark red, and they already did green, so I am happy with the color choice.

I'm pretty excited that they chose to add a dark red dragon Creator set this go-round. It will look perfect next to my green dragon Creator set among all my Castle sets that I have boxed. They go very nicely among the Viking dragons also.
