Odd sword

Postby Faust » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:32 pm

Recently I ordered a few old grey short swords off bricklink, (the ones they stopped making a couple decades before I was born :( ) With them though, i got a sword that is light grey, but is made of the new plastic and uses the sword mold that does not have the diamond shaped cross-section. I didn't think they put a sword like this in any set, so does any one know where this came from?

the pirate has the odd sword, the dwarf has a hard plastic sword and a crownie sword for comparison.

The light grey PP plastic sword was in these three sets:

Considering the low number of sets this version was in, you would think the sword would be worth more. Of course tons of Hogwart's Castles were produced which could lead to high amounts of these swords in the secondary market.

The sword in question was also available in LEGO Harry Potter Slytherin 4735 set which was available for $10 or less in MASSIVE numbers. That's another account for the low price. And then there's that Legends Black Falcon's Fortress set which was sort of popular around here...
