Golden Tulip Hotel
Golden Tulip Hotel
Hi all! It has been a long time since i build anything with lego. In fact i havent build anything since CCCVI BUT Finally i got some inspiration and build a city street.
Oh one more thing. This is my first moc that contains my avatar (Mr Fish). In this moc it is very easy to find him, but in my future mocs i'm going to hide him in my mocs. Something like 'Where is Wally'. So have a good look at him now so you know how he looks like!
I hope you all like it!

Woo great job! You know I love modular buildings
I also love those 2 buildings to either side, and the details all over are just great. It's also cool that you added a street.
And I found your sigfig, he's pretty easy to find in this one indeed.

Very nice. I'm surprised how well the light grey works here. I'd have thought it'd be too plain, but it looks great.

Great to see another MOC from you! I love it, so many great little details and stuff going on. It's amazing how so many little details can form one great creation!

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
I don't even know were to start here. It's just so nice. The grey is good, I see a lot of grey buildings around me. The addition of the street is indeed a good one and I also like the large panoramic 'window'. Hey, LEGO doesn't make one the size you want, just pretend there's one there eh? The faceless mannequins and the awnings are nice touches as well. The roof is IMO, distinctly European though.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
Fantastic job. I'd like to see it next to a green grocer and a corner street. I would blend perfectly. Nice details all over.
Well done!

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
I like this alot Very impressive. I hope before you dismantle it you do a few scenes with Spiderman like those vigs you did a while back. The old man crossing the street would look funny getting launched through the air from being hit from the bus. (Did I say that last part out loud?...... )

I got you confused with Sir Nelson. I guess I get some of you Master Builders confused. MrTS lives to the east across the ocean, Sir Nelson to the west across a different ocean....got it

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
I'd hate to disagree, but I find the building rather plain being mostly one shade of grey. It seems unfinished and washed out compared to the rest of the scene which has many bright colors. Don't get me wrong, it's built very nicely and seems to take bits and pieces of the building style of the Cafe Corner and Green Grocer, but some more color on the building would, in my opinion, make an improvement.

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
I really like this. I think the all grey facade gives this a very nice, understated look. The buildings on both sides are very good, but I like the sandgreen one the best.
Also the street scene gives a very "alive" feel to this scene.

PS. I blogged this. Just had to.

Re: Golden Tulip Hotel
It's wonderful to see you apply the attention to detail we've come to expect from your Castle creations to Town as well. I really like the gray hotel, of course, but I also like the dark grey and sand green building on the right. The big windows are a nice contrast to the smaller windows we see so often in CC-style buildings.
