New Castle Lego Advent Calendar for 2009?

Post by legobaron »

Is there any word on whether Lego will do another castle advent calendar for 2009? My boys and I loved it last Christmas and curious if they will be doing it again.

Hey Legobaron,

The rumor is that this year there will be a pirate-themed advent calendar. I don't know if there is official confirmation of this as yet, nor have we seen any pictures.

Bruce,

On Eurobricks, pictures have been posted of the pirate advent calendar. I am not sure whether they are prelims or if they are real. Legobaron; I have not heard anything about a Castle advent calendar this year. :(

Since this thread is speculative, I am moving it to the Dear Lego forum. The LEGO Castle Sets forum is only for discussion of actual sets. Thanks.

Thanks. Pirate works. Not as good as Castle though. Loving the new stuff coming out now though. Hope they do Elves at some time. Thanks!

As much as I loved the Castle Advent Calendar, I'm glad they are doing a Pirate one instead. There isn't a whole of new Castle stuff this year. The town calendars have been rather repetitive and I would hate for that to happen to a Castle one as well.

I've seen the pictures of the pirate one and I'm not impressed. Didn't look like any new and/or exclusive figures.

The original picture showed a sawfish, but the new one reveals it is only another shark.

I don't really mind. I'm just glad we got last year's calendar. I would love to have seen another one, but I suppose LEGO is really pushing the Pirates line right now so it would make sense not to have a Castle calendar this year. Oh well; at least I'll save a few $$$.

Seeing as the Castle was not available to the NA market last year, I'm a little surprised that there isn't one this year. Not overly disappointed, just kinda thought with the reaction it seemed to receive, we'd be likely to get one. (Thanks Ben and others again  ) I'm glad they are doing a Pirate one. I just hope they don't base the future of that theme on the sales of the calandar. From the vibe I've been getting, it may be full of meh.
