This one came out a lot faster than number 3 did. Not that I am complaining or anything.

As much as I like the fig reissues, the fig printing on my Vol 2 collection is horrendous- the smile/eye details on the heads seem bigger than they should be, and a lot of the colour seems off.

Given the quality of this one and the reports of the others, i'm not entirely sure if these are actually as desirable to collectors as TLG is making them out to be.

I received my copies of this set in the mail yesterday and have several observations:

The printing is high quality and located in the correct places on each fig. This issue was fixed from the previous classic space logo problem of volume 3. In addition, the Classic-Castle knight's torso emblem colors are slightly different shades from the original versions (which also had several differences due to multiple production runs). The torso is still visually appealing while allowing collectors to distinguish between the old and new versions.

Plastic color is a huge issue with this new collection. The red plastic is not consistent and looks terrible. This poor level of quality by LEGO is not acceptable. However, torsos, arms, and legs could be exchanged inexpensively for the correct plastic type. The color consistency seems to be fine on the blue spaceman and green forestman.

The forestman cap has a smooth finish which is different from the original. My guess is that the mold is wearing out or it was retooled. The small feather plume is a new mold. It has several plastic injection point markings which do not bother me.

It is a shame that a great collection of figures has quality issues. Still, this is a affordable way to collect these figures if you want all five of them.

For 15euro it is selling in France, no thanks.
And why so many "classic" spacemen with the new helmet design, how did they dare to do it.
Too bad, just for the ben, would have been nice, but I already have a blacktron (wich will be on sale when I'll be able to BS), some forestmen (enough for me), and see no interrest in a Santa, nor in a "classic" spaceman.
These sets find interrest with someone who wants to get every set, or just parts of the whole production, but not for myself, I'm just a castle player.

I am so glad that I read this thread.

I have not bought any of the Vintage Minifig Collections, but I was considering that I should. I already have enough (the exact amount has been kept secret to protect the stupid = me) minifigs of the vintage variety, to keep me satisfied. Most of them are in great condition, with very little wear or fading. So I don't need to buy new versions of them.

Now that I am hearing/reading that the new versions have production issues, I am glad that I have saved my money. Thanks again for the honest comments people. :)

This pack is now sold out in the USA after only six weeks. I am surprised it went so quickly. These figures were the best so far and that must have influenced sales.
